Wenger and AVB. Fergie's a no-no and so's Benitez. Mancini yes but as a third choice. I like Italian football and they've been great ambassadors for Europe over the years. Wenger has proven success and can turn a crisis around but AVB is young and knows what he wants.

Villas-Boas, because Ferguson assaults his own players, Wenger and Benitez are clearly mental, and Mancini has proven to be poor at man management with his mollycoddling of Balotelli and witch hunt against Tevez.

Oh man I'm not going to enjoy saying this but I voted Wenger.

He may not win as much as Fergie, who in my opinion would be the obvious candidate, but Wenger plays a brilliant style of football, brings through youth and develops them into great players and also brings the best out of many other players who, if at another club, would not shine like they would under him.

So yeah, despite not liking the idea I voted for him, for me, he'd be the ideal manager to work under.

Well in the spirit of the OP, you're choosing which manager and club you'd like to play under if you were a player. If you had a choice between those 5, wouldn't one assume you'd have a fair shot of breaking into any of the first XI's?

5 years ago old bacon face and Wenger would have been the obvious choices: But both must be coming to the end of their tenures now. Ferguson cannot go on for ever and Wenger seems to have run out of ideas. If I "fancied the relative stability of a long term (if there is such a thing in football) "project," I'd go for AVB.

Sadly the inherited defence is not actually true. Surely their last winning team had a defence of Lauren Judas Toure Cole - none of whom was inherited.

My answer would be AVB I think. In terms of playing adventurous tactics, then he's the man. Also think he's the easiest to get along with (from what I know anyway). With Fergie you'd be rowing or biting your lip all the time, Wenger and Mancini are just weird and Benitez is just obnoxious.

If he was in the list Harry might be fun to play for, and Moyes would be someone you could rely on - overly disciplinarian, but consistent unlike Mancini and Benitez. You'd know where you stand with him.

It may well be that AVB is a positive factor when it comes to signing players as the comparisons made by some posters on this thread would suggest.

Signing an interim manager at Chelsea also appears to be a negative factor.

Of the five AVB has youth on his side and the positive Porto record which is probably seen as more important in Europe than than his brief stay at Chelsea.

A plus for Levy in his negotiations?

yes i suppose it does......i was just thinking purely with my 'player' head...itd be harder to get into the chelsea team than the Arsenal one nowadays...however id work for Wenger before Rafa anyday...so regardless of that problem..id go for Wenger.

    Wenger closely followed by AVB.

Tactical nous, only reason he hasn't won more is the money he's spent on wages as opposed to transfers. Genuinely knows what he's talking about.
AVB because he's obviously got talent, a breath of fresh air in the managerial world, and again, attractive tactics.

Fergies a semi-senile old man, who's got a reputation of falling out with people and a horrible temper, Benitez is a moron and Mancini is completely overrated due to the quality of player he has at his disposal.
