Very impressed with them tonight the spell they had in the first half was fantastic to watch, and Michael Laudrupp has certainly improved them after Rodgers left them for the bin dippers. Wrote on another thread how impressed I was with Chico Flores, big, strong, mobile defender who is great in the air and top quality with the ball at his feet, yer he makes a meal of it at times but so do most footballers now and that bit of skill he done to get past Vaughan was Ronaldo esque haha, left Vaughan for dead. I hope I am wrong but I think Swansea are going to get into that top 8 on a consistant basis before us, Laudrupp is the coolest manager out there, never looks rattled and is a positive manager. Cannot believe they paid peanutes for Chico, De Guzman and Michu 3 players who would walk into our team. Onto us, it was a good point in the end, we cannot have those tactics everyweek, 0 shots on target, Fletcher mayaswell of gone home the poor bloke, was isolated for the majority of the game, if we are going to play 4/5/1 or 4/3/3 we need new quick, direct wingers who play further up the pitch, McClean, Johnson and Sess IMO are not cut out for that sort of role and the midfield 3 offer no creativity. MoN said after the game there is a number of bids in so hopefully a few will come off, hopefully not Graham though
Spot on and it's a shame none of your fellow Mackems has contributed here. On the other hand there is at least one other thread that includes ridiculous criticism of our style of play - after a game where we played all the football and you had ZERO shots on target. It's good to see that some Mackems haven't got their head up their ass. Nice post.
I said last year Swansea were the best team to play at the SOL, albeit lacking a cutting edge you could argue. Nothing I saw last night did anything to suggest they are not a fantastic football team. It's annoying to me the amount of money we have thrown at things the last few years (compared to Swansea) to see the dross that has so often been served up by us this season. I know which team I would rather watch on a consistent basis. Well done Swansea.
Swansea. Pretty football. Little end product other than loads of 20 to 25 yard shots. Could just as easily be relegated as be top 10 in the next 2 seasons, as without Michus goals, they would struggle to win games imo.
Well said mate.I thought you played some fantastic football You looked light years ahead of us, the way you sprayed it about. What is wrong at SAFC who bloody knows But hey I enjoyed your football, have a great day at the final
Not wanting to be pedantic but didn't your keeper make a diving save from a free-kick in the first half - i.e. a SHOT ON TARGET?? Guess you didn't watch the game then!! I like some of the football you play but you've done that twice up here with no end product - Our keeper made 1 significant save (the same amount as yours) the rest were simple catches for your 3 or 4 shots on target - nothing of substance at all! We were absolutly terrible going forward last night and a pretty poor performance in midfild yet your wonderful football got you a goalless draw with a poor side! I like watching the way you pass the ball but it would frustrate the hell out of me watching that every week as the lack of end product (and your top scorer playing in midfield) was boring
When the Rangers owner takes things to court on why Welsh teams are in the English league and cots are not, maybe they will be playing Cwmbran and Barry Town each week
It fills me with a great sense of fulfillment that we as fans of SAFC are able to savour the pure physical manifestation itself in the form of zero shots on target at home, as opposed to the aromatic scent of a major cup final and in all likelihood, winning a domestic trophy.
A bit unfair, they played the better stuff and were the better team overall. We were at home, you would never have thought thst thoug.
I thought as an exhibition match, much akin to the Harlem Globetrotters, they looked entertaining but it was all ultimately for **** all. There just isn’t an end product and that kind of stuff is just as likely to fall apart as a team that relies solely on a long ball game. It’s easily read and dealt with. Everyone says we have had a **** season and they have had a great season. Well, cup final apart (and well done for that) they have amassed 5 points more than us ALL season. By the end of May I fully expect that we will be above the sheep shagging yacky dar , taffy bell ends as we will pick up more wins to their bore draws and predict they will fall away towards the end.
Give it a couple of years and it will be "Swansea and the good old times back when Laudrup was the boss" as Laudrup escalates to much higher ground.
At times it was like attack against defence on the training ground. Michael Laudrup has taken Swansea on from Brendan Rodgers. Last season at the SOL Swansea had most of the ball but played it along the back four and we beat you 2-0 (you may have had the possession but you were dire to watch), this season there is an end product and you looked dangerous around the 18 yard line. Good luck for the future and for what its worth, I have never seen so many away supporters in the club shop buying momentos, thanks for contributing to SAFC.
Watched it last night on the telly and was bored ****less with both teams to be fair. Swansea look good passing the ball about but, as with last season up here without the end product what is the point? We were like rabbits in headlights for the first half improved slightly second half and that was it a poor game which if I'm honest I'm glad I missed. Plus points from last night for us was Bramble had a decent game I thought, the Mig did well although not sure he broke a sweat. Negatives Fletcher was isolated yet again and was feeding on scraps yet again, midfield were non existent as Swansea just strolled past them at will more in the first half than second but still it was far too easy for them. All in all one to forget for both teams although I reckon Swansea will be the happier at getting an away point.
Where do people get that we had 0 chots on target? Did no-one see Larsson's free kick in the first 10 minutes ? He meant that - it was a shot and their keeper saved it - if he hadn't we'd have scored so 1 shot on target - still ****e but still a shot on target
And your shots on target were ****e Mig wasn't troubled at all and it's a shame your head is up your arse, very far up there...
you mean Man of the match? No way, for me it was Bramble or Sessengon for his 15 minutes were your defense couldn't handle him...
