Not trusting Maldonado not to bin it on the first lap, they're letting Susie have first dibs on the FW35

She will also have more development time during the year. Will we see her out on a Friday morning?

Surprised she still has involvement at Williams with Toto going to Mercedes.

My first thoughts:

FW35 launched today.

Pictures due soon, but first ones look like it's a bit different to the rest. Looks like its headbutted a brick wall.

Looks like the Ferrari f138 a little bit.

It looks very short though. Seems to have the least overhang at the front of any car and the front wing is swept back from the end of the nose. Lots of detail in the sculpture of the elements of the front wing.

A slightly odd looking car, but if its faster and more consistent than last years, Williams won't care!

I can see what you mean about it being shorter, seems a bit squished.
Well sculpted and neat, lets see what kind of package it is, their drivers are very good also. Come on Williams, would be good to see them running at the front again.

EDIT: what a way to celebrate my 7000th post!

Quiz imminent.....

Was pretty much already known but now its been made official.

Williams to use Mercedes engines from 2014 Formula 1 season

As part of the deal, Mercedes will supply all associated energy recovery systems for the power unit, although Williams will continue to design and produce its own transmission.

"I'm delighted to announce our new association with Mercedes-Benz for the 2014 Formula 1 season and beyond," said team principal Frank Williams.

"Mercedes-Benz has been one of the sport's most successful engine suppliers and we believe that they will have an extremely competitive engine package.

Interesting!

probably part of the Toto wolff buyout agreement. I wonder if future Mercedes drivers will be getting Williams seats?
