Sky Sports understands Leeds are lining up a move for Reading defender Kaspars Gorkss.

Leeds boss Neil Warnock is a big fan of Gorkss having worked with him during his time in charge of Queens Park Rangers.

So how does this work. He's not wanted anymore by a premiership team who have conceded almost two goals per game but yet he is good enough for us. Hope someone can explain that to me as I'm obviously thick

Given the previous posts do you not mean 'I am obviously tick' ;)

I hate transfer rumours. Roll on Friday so it all ends for a while

Two consecutive CB roles in championship title winning teams. Whether he's great at the next level is immaterial until we actually look like getting there. His record at this level is clearly very good!

Bessone played no part in a championship winning side though, let alone 2. Bessone looked good for Swansea, but the fact is he hasn't looked particularly good anywhere since he left them for the first time.

I disagree with this outlook, we should be signing players that can keep us in the prem rather than get us promoted from the Champ. As it stands, if by some miracle we were to get promoted we have one maybe two players that'd have the capability of making the next step which would mean we'd have to sign a completely new team

Yeah, and the problem is that signing players that can keep us in the prem suggests they will be prem quality! How many premier league quality players are going to join a championship side at all, let alone a mid table one?!

It's all a bit random & contrary. Think about it - how many defenders (who were once capable of keeping a team in the PL !!) came down into the Championship with their relegated teams, only to play crap forever after? Loads & loads of PL defenders have failed to cope in the Championship. Both leagues are completely different, and it's not everybody that can consistently cope with both. There is no single rule that we should follow, as some seem to think.

Looking at Cardiff's team I see around 7 or 8 players with the potential to play in a mid to bottom table team in the prem.

Looking at Leicester's team I see around 9 players with the potential.

As I said I believe we have two maximum, that is what you need to recruit. Not players like Tonge and Gorkss who have already proved there not good enough

Maybe gfh are quite happy to spend a couple of seasons more in the championship anyway. That would give them ample time to gather up a few quid along the way. In that case giving mediocre players two or three year contracts won't worry them. All our over 30's would be retired. If as they say. they have not borrowed to buy their shares, they may not be under pressure for a quick promotion

Have not posted in a while, just kept up to speed by reading peoples views in which they are entitled to! my view is........ i am totaly fed up with the crap and how LUFC in general are treating the fans, the boardroom is a shambles, players do not seem to have that spirit they once had, so what the **** is going off, does anybody know if there is a manager in the Brian Clough mode out there who is wanting a job, who stands up to the boardroom and takes no crap from premadonar players, if so lets get him in place and get things rolling again, as i for one are fed up with all what is going off. What has our new big owners done since the take over ........ absolutely **** all, oh sorry we have loaned a scally from Everton for a month......big deal, i really feel for you supporters who go week in week out, and spend good hard earned cash and are treat in such a manner, it is not acceptable....rant over.

GFH want to make a profit on us and sell, they want promotion and it will be a case of survive for one season cash the increased income and sell for a profit, if not relegated enjoy the parachute payment for a year or two and still sell.

Is that absolute fact or just needless pesimistic speculation?
