Perhaps that's where I read it!!!

With a name like Rhys I can imagine a Welsh connection though.

Just had to have a look where Connah Quay is. i Knew it was in the land of Gog but didnt realise how close to the border it is. May well go up for the friendly as i do like Gogland and its inhabitants, even if they are all Manure, Liverpool or Everton fans.

I'd go across for that. It's only about 30 miles for me.

The likes of Bale and bellers will prefer to train westwards down the M4.

    Only good enough for Wolves.

You know the ones who according to our mates down West, were going to batter us this year because they had PL strength in depth ........

He is a useful player and highly rated at Newport. They didn't want to sell but Wolves must have made an offer they couldn't refuse and they didn't want to hold him back.

Don't know what the fee is but probably £100/200k which will help Newport stengthen in the areas they need players for their promotion push.

Why didn't we sign him? Don't know, perhaps we have enough talented youngsters in midfield already?

I don't think we should ever go for the scattergun approach and hoover up all the "prospects" that appear on the scene. That's not saying we shouldn't (double negative?) keep our eyes open and take up some of the recommendations from respected sources. Be selective and take on the best.

We also have an academy to produce, and comprehensive club staff thereafter to work on those who come through with future first team credentials.

The lad from Newport would be one of many that I'm sure the club would have been aware of, but chose not to pursue. Maybe we did offer something, but Wolves had the greater need, and looking at their table position would suggest that's the case. Dean Saunders could find himself with a poisoned chalice rather than the Holy Grail.

Drink up Dean, there's a good lad. :emoticon-0105-wink:

EDIT: - Deano - just realised the importance of your job. Very important that you win tonight mate.

From that old beer advert - " remember you're Welsh".....<laugh>
