So the January transfer window is slowly closing. Given the latest performances (squad getting rotated and players giving a good account of themselves when they stepped in) and our current injury list, in which areas do you think we still need to strengthen and who would you like to see come in?

Myself, I think a striker is probably still needed but maybe also some cover in defence. Midfield is probably not necessary but if we did what about David Bentley on loan? He's listed as a winger but always understood him to be more of an attacking midfielder.

    You have the floor.

A 6 month loan for a Left Back wouldn't go amiss to cover Ben Davies. I would also like to see a striker come in so that Michu can go back the /attacking midfielder second striker position he prefers, mind you, we seem to have a decent youngster in the ranks... Alex Samuel, would like to see him given a chance. He is only about 16/17 but might be beneficial to blood him in when he is young.

No one really required with the exception of a striker& that will depend on when DG goes , other than that I think we're pretty well sorted until the end of the season.Tiendelli can cover both full back positions ,Alex maybe good enough at youth level but surely we can't be as lucky with him as we have with Ben Davies,at 16 he'd have to be something special if we had to rely on someone of that age and experience .

Very true, but I was thinking not so much relying on him but just giving him first team experience. Say we are 3-0 with 30 minutes then give him half hour on the pitch. :)

We need a good Patrick Viera type defensive midfielder, especially as Kemy is injured. Also a top quality striker if and when one becomes available at a reasonable price. Defensively I think we are covered at the moment.

Personally I'm happy with what we've got and would be delighted if DG stayed. However if he goes we need a replacement pretty quick and I'm not convinced about Kenwyn Jones. Sadly, it looks like he's the man. If he does come here I'll back him and hope he does well.

My worry is that the DG deal if it happens goes through last minute and we're left withut lining up a replacement but I'm sure the Club has thought of this.

I saw DG in Nandos on the weekend and he ate enough chicken to make me think he's staying. <cheers>

What is it with Nando's? Tate was in there the other day.

MON- To me the answer is in your question, "Who do we NÉED" (not who do we want). If DG goes we need an out and out center forward because Itay, Luke Moore and the other replacements are a million miles from DG however disinterested he is. And I personally believe we need a goal-scoring CF even If DG decided to stay to give him real motivation.

I also agree we need an attack-dog in his early 20's to
play and learn from Leon. Mascherano will do! Deep, aggressive and comfortable between our box and half-way line.

Finally we need another full-back. The stats for teenagers suffering lengthy lay-ups due to over-exhubrance are frightening... Bartley looks a little different I.e. made of Kevlar! That's my two pennies worth for now- I Hope I can be bettered lads. Up the Swans!

Why would we loan in at left back when we just loaned out Jazz Richards - an international quality player

I actually dont think we need anybody, as long as no one leaves. We have got through our busiest period relatively unscathed.

However we should always be looking to improve our squad in order to move on and keep up with other sides and if someone comes along who does that then we should move for them. But, i dont agree with signing for signings sake. I dont think we can just sit on our laurels.

Laudrup has stated on sky sports transfer watch that we will not be in for anymore players. To me that says thatDG is here to stay.

Doesn't concern me overly much because Tremmel has shown he can step up. That said, I still rate Vorm as easily our best keeper and if he goes, I hope the fee reflects his value to us.

Interesting, though. We all know about Michael's connection with Barca and, if any deal was done, it would not surprise me if some of Barca's youngsters/fringe players become available on loan on beneficial terms for us.

Too right. I'll settle for £10 million and David Villa. Nice bit of business there. Otherwise it would have to be around £15 million at least.
