I've been a Watford fan all my life and with memories for over 50 years. I've chanted "we hate Luton" and sung the song of the mum with ................. But even I was pleased for them yesterday. They made history. Well done hatters and please get up the league soon. I really miss hating you
I dont see why we have to stop hating them just because they are non-league. I hope that they get someone like Middlesbrough, Barnsley or Wigan in the next round. They would have a long trek to the cold north only to sit in a **** ground or in a ground with no atmosphere. How many of the 4000 would make that trip I wonder.... And we all know how tough it is to maintain a cup run and good league form. They can have a cup run if they like, but they aint getting promoted any time soon. #thescumarestayingdown
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Never............................ Insanity......................... I can never never take an atom of pleasure from the scum winning or surviving for that matter. Now wash your mouth out with soap and somebody call a doctor for a sanity check on kchorn.
I have a lifelong (well since I was nearly 13) hatred of L**town football club, its ground, its supporters, the town and the general area of South Beds. The loathing comes from the very first match I attended in 1964 at the Kennel when John O'Rourke sat on Pat Jennings to allow them to score the winner and extinguish any hope we had of going up under the Bill McGarry regime, much to their fans' gloating. Despite my Dad's hatred of them (dating back to the 30's) up till then I had no feelings either way. After many subsequent visits to the Kennel, almost all of which were attended by violence and threats of one sort or another, I am not about to turn hypocrite and start praising them. They are (and always have been) a vile club, with vile fans in a desperate dump of a town and I, for one, am waiting for the time when they overstretch themselves once again, go bust and vanish permanently from the scene. I suspect I am not alone, in the way I feel, amongst Hornets fans, other League clubs' fans and indeed the many Blue Square clubs' fans on which they have already inflicted their nastiness.
Vic has a point here but so does kchorn. What I would like is to beat them 4-0 both home and away. Can't do this if they are non league so there's the problem...
So nothing changes But I still miss those games on a rainy Wednesday night. When they disappeared there was talk of QPR or some other club replacing them as the target but it didn't happen. The nearest we got was the trip to Reading to show Brendan how much we were missing him but that was one off - as good as it was. As for them totally disappearing that might persuade some to support MK Dons and if there is one thing I hate more than Luton it is people who rob people of their football clubs
Why is this post disgusting? Folks are simply expressing how they feel about our local rivals. You are perfectly at liberty to post on here how much you admire those "plucky" non-leaguers........
I must be the only Watford fan who not only applauds the effort of the team...they played well...but finds the "scum" references tiresome. Like most clubs, they have some awful fans and some genuine ones. If I go on personal experience of being threatened, abused etc. they come nowhere near the likes of others I could mention. To me it's sad people feel the need to hate another club en masse. If it's meant in fun, as sometimes is claimed, it's just one of thse things I don't find funny.
I must admit I'd like us to have another opportunity to beat them on the field of play. If we'd beaten Manchester City, would there be a thread by Luton fans on a forum anywhere saying well done? I doubt it.
