No, It's obvious the squad has weaknesses and this is an oppurtunity to address that. If he thinks this squad is anywhere near as strong as our rivals (City,United and Chelsea) then he's no longer the right man for the job. It seems to me he wants to work a certain way and is refusing to change despite the gradual decline we are going through and to me that does'nt seem right. This is'nt Arsene Wengers 'Project' this is Arsenal FC and the fans deserve better.
I think the squad needs strengthening, but I can't agree with the rest of your comment. As you pointed out in an earlier comment, what's the point of buying players for the sake of it if they're not going to be any better than what we've got ?
I still refuse to believe that Wenger won't strengthen his squad in this transfer window. He can't be that stupid. You can't trust Diaby to stay fit, Ramsey and Coquelin are hit and miss at the best of times. We only have three CB's and without Mert, the other two are clueless when they have to play together. And we all know about the problems upfront.
You would think, especially with the players who have left, that we will strengthen. I don't know why people get so irate about Wenger's media responses about transfers as he's always been coy about what he says to the press. I've no doubt he is working on some deals, whether we can pull them off remains to be seen . . .

Sure, but there are (and have been) plenty of players out there that.. a). would improve our Squad b). we CAN afford. Buying players that dont improve the squad is pointless but there are PLENTY of players out there that would. And most importantly money is available. So it's all down to Wengers judgement.
I've already accepted we're not signing anyone this window, I won't be spending next thursday watching SSN and hoping for something like last time
While we are waiting for Wenger to sign super super quality players can we tell each other jokes to keep up morale my effort as follows Here is two interesting facts about me! 1) My knob is the same length as 2 argos pens! 2) I am barred from argos
Ba - prolific striker. Sturridge - can play central or on the wing. M'Vila - No-nonsense DM, tall, athletic, powerful. Sissoko - See above. Sneijder - Class attacking midfielder, won HUGE amounts, great experience.
Ba - good buy for Chelsea by the looks of it. Sturridge - £12m is a lot of money, Walcott is much better. M'Vila - Why did no big club want him ? Sissoko - time will tell, he looks like a promising player. Sneijder - Big risk for a lot of money.
Must have been a reason why ? Especially for the price. He was being touted as a £22m player last year.
Sneijder went for under 10m. Sturridge could play WITH Theo, he wouldn't have been a replacement. You've essentially said that Ba, M'Vila and Sissoko are players that you wouldn't have minded coming in?
Not sure what wage Sneijder is on, it was reported he wasn't too happy a big cut. I don't massively rate Sturridge and for £12m I'd have been disappointed if Arsenal had bought him. As for the others, yes I'd like to have seen them at Arsenal (although I'm perplexed about M'Vila and unsure about Sissoko). I'm not arguing that we don't need to strengthen. And it is surprising why there wasn't more interest for the M'Via and Sissoko.
Loads mate, here's a few... Forwards.. David Villa Jovetic Stephan El Shaarawy Dzeko Higuiane Benzema Llorente (looks to have signed for Juve for a miniscule £3 Mill though) Edison Cavani Lewandowski CM/DM's: Strootman Diame Sven Bender M'Vila (looks like we missed this one too) Sissoko (also just missed out on) Wanyama Claudio Yacob CB's: Benedikt Howedes Hummels(I wish!) Chielleni Subotic Ranocchia Daniel Agger Heiko Westermann and dare i say it.. Steven Caulker AM's: (I dont think we NEED to strengthen here but I would'nt turn down a Top class addition) Isco Goetze Willian Gourcuff Eriksen GK's Reina Vorm Steklenburg Samir Handanovic René Adler etc.. All either TOP class already or with the potential to be. Most of these players wont come cheap but then that's capitalism for you. Most importantly they would ALL strengthen our squad considerably.
