I went to see Les Mis at the theatre, didn't like it that much
Just to much opera singing for my liking
Not a touch on Phantom Of The Opera, been to see that 6 times at the theatre, the best show ever

really?? Funny, i hated it lol. I saw it with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman...he was amazing, and carried the show, without him it would have been dreadful...she was annoying...lol That was a long time ago though...;)

That must have been at least 15 years ago, you must have been just a slip of a girl then.

I'm not a fan of lloyd Webber at all.
I have paid to see Les Miserables at least 8 times, but seen it a hell of a lot more from a different position.
    Totally different views and acoustics.
    Totally fantastic show though.

quite a few like the phantom like me

In 2011 the Broadway show "The Phantom of the Opera" became the longest running show in Broadway history, in fact it had its highest weekly gross of its 23 year history in January, bringing in $1,390,530.53 for its 8 performances. As impressive as that is, at that point its world-wide gross was over $5,000,000,000! It became the highest grossing show of any type, even surpassing the movie Avatar's $2,700,000,000. The show has been performed more than 65,000 times, in 27 countries, & 144 cities!

Would be interesting to know just how many people Lloyd Webber 'paid' to keep quiet, just so he could keep some of 'his' songs in the show,

The one that really caught him out was the Paganini variations - South Bank theme - that did cost him a pretty penny <laugh> <laugh>

The score for les Mis is frightening.
For a show where the songs sound so simple and melodic, the actual notation of it scaared me to death.
I'd hate to have the pressure of putting that together.
