Charlton have asked for volunteers to help clear all ice and snow in walkways etc around the ground to help reduce the risk of injury at Saturday's match.

There is an estimated 110 tonnes of snow on the pitch right now, but also of concern are the stands, stairs, and around the stadium. The snow on the pitch will be cleared before the weekend, but the club have asked volunteers to help clear the other areas around the ground.

Anyone keen to help out can meet at the Valley tomorrow Wednesday at 9am

I'm a bit far away, but thought I'd post in case there was anyone interested in helping out.

Meanwhile on Owlstalk... they feel they are so MASSIVE that an appeal on the Charlton website for 'volunteer fans' is somehow aimed exclusively at Sheffield Wednesday fans. I thought Alan Pardew was the only one with Reading problems. All over the news that schools in Yorkshire are closed today - they must have been closed for the past 40 years in north Sheffield.

Another nephew of mine born down the road from Hillsborough today. Hope he becomes a Hallam FC fan.

Surely Sheffield F C would be more distinguished? Imagine when he travels to China in thirty years to meet his, and all of our, new bosses being able to say he supports the oldest surviving club in the world.

Is it bad that reading Tuesd... i mean Wednesday's site makes me angry most the time due to the fact they see us as a tiny club, personal line that would have me rating in their face is,

"They might have been in the Premiership but Charlton Athletic have never been a Premiership Club."

And all questioning our lack of under soil heating, they are a club I really hate, to be honest, more then Palace and Millwall, I know fans from both sides and neither have insulted us as much as Wednesday fans do... massive club, if they are a massive club then Vicky Beckham is fat.

Other news, anyone moan at me if i make an account on their site just to defend us, and point out we never ask for Wednesday fans?

Hallam are more likely, and they have the oldest football ground, or have been at their ground for the longest time in the world. I know Hallam are a genuine possibility, but he'll probably end up Man City/Utd

Sheffield FC don't even play in Yorkshire, never mind Sheffield. Should rename to Dronfield FC ;)

TED, please don't set up an account if that's how you're going to react to them. We all know SWFC haven't spent any longer in the PL than Charlton, nor will they get there before us. They've had to postpone games before due to frozen pipes, no undersoil heating there. I hope they're enjoying their relegation dogfight.

The main thing is that they can't tell that cafc.co.uk is the Charlton website not the Wendy one.

Yeah I won't do it, cba with to to be honest. And it is on their website too but it is just copy and pasted from ours, they probs don't realise it yet. And I just really cannot stand Wednesday at all, will dance on their grave if they get relegated or they go into admin

We spent 8 years in the Premier League.

So did they.

Twits.

Sort of agree with this to be honest. Well I hate them about as much as I hate Palace - they both have such delusional fans, always make a point of trying to show how they're bigger than us (and other clubs), when all evidence points to the contrary, and simply cannot be reasoned with.

Whilst I see Millwall as rivals and do 'hate' them, I have an element of respect for them. They're a small club, with a small dedicated fan base (not using small as an insult). They're fully aware of this identity too and have no delusions of grandeur. I know its different for each CAFC fan, but I'm very much in the "Millwall are our naughty younger brother" rather than our sworn enemy.

Chelsea are the one club I feel a deep festering hatred for. Nothing in the world would make me happier than for Abramovic to pull the plug. I was absolutely gutted when their under-18's knocked us out the Cup.
