Again, I havent seen Wilfried Bony. Perhaps Cove can shed some light on him? (it is cove who's the Dutch guru isn't it?) But from what i've seen, a 6ft weapon similar to Lukaku would be very handy and give us a different option. we might actually pose some sort of attack when a cross is put in!!

Negredo is supposedly the most likely according to the twits, but they have said there's a few options for what ever scenario arises. - Don't know what to think about that one. I think he's a bit of a last resort again to be honest, as he's all that's left after you take away the ones that are too expensive or unavailable.

Someone called?

Here are two vids on Bony:

His nickname btw is Daddy Cool, cause of his hair...

Bony is the Drogba kind of player. Good technique, great vision and he can rip through a defense in a second. He is lethal in the box, he is extremely inventive and can score a goal when it looks like it's impossible to do. The only two problems he has is his speed, he just can't run effectively. He is unfit for counter football, one of the slowest strikers I've seen in a while. His second problem is his mentality. He can get carried away on the pitch at times and get himself into trouble, he has a bit of that African temper. But he is a very creative player, very consistent and he has a type of hunger for a goal that he still wants to score so badly, even when the team is 4 or 5 goals up he is still giving everything to score at least one goal a game.

But his greatest asset is his strength. The guy is insanely strong, I once saw three defenders trying to push him to the ground and they failed, he stayed up and managed to score. His stamina and endurance are incredible, he just never quits and chases the ball till the 95th minute if that is needed. In my January Transfer blog I rated him between 10 and 15 million pounds. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/180373-The-January-Transfer-Window?p=4021712&highlight=bony#post4021712

Hope this gives you an idea who Bony is.

Lots of clubs suddenly appear to be interested in Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who we were linked to a while ago and who now plays in Villas-Boas' native Portugal.
He also has the silliest name in European football (probably). The media would like us more if we signed him...

Lets just be honest, 31st January, 2 minutes til the window shuts:

"Breaking news from Tottenham Hotspur and they've finally bagged a striker! Bolton Captain Kevin Davies has signed a 6 month loan deal to join the North London giants with a view to a permanent move, more as we get it!"

Don't be cruel SoS. There are old people reading this.

Roo, you be interested to know that the Celtic assistant manager (Mjallby) was speaking to the press and journal paper about Celtic having an interest in Charlie Austin and have him on their shortlist if Hooper leaves yet they expect Hooper to stay until the summer.

So looks like your mate charlie is getting attention and could be in line for champions league football if Hooper moves south.

Actually i should set up a TWITter account as that makes me ITK (well....sort of..:D)

Brings me back Charlie Austin who I suggested the other day. Celtic are looking at Charlie Austin if Hooper leaves. If it is believed that the SPL is of such a low standard when compared to the English leagues, I'd rather we were looking at Charlie Austin, who's scored 20 odd already in what is a very competitive championship league.
I'm not saying i want us to sign charlie Austin, I'm merely suggesting that i'd trust the championship a lot more as we know much more about the standard.

Nice to know u read my replies to you mate! <laugh>

Cheers Cove, much appreciated. A difficult one. I would say that we need the striker to have a bit of pace, but then that's not strictly true if we consider what berbatov was like!

Heung-Min Son?
On the breaking transfer page on beeb. Nothing concrete of course.

Trying to unearth some gems maybe? £10m ain't that cheap though.

Bony seems to have something of Yakubu about him.
Might just be the way he runs, though.
