Pochettino stated in his post match press conference that he has not yet sat down and spoken to the chairman about transfers.

But hasn't ruled anything in, or out.

Don't believe him for a moment on that one, only 9 days of the window left and he hasn't discussed transfers, but he's off to Barcelona for a few days "maybe we'll have a little chinwag about some ideas over an iced latte when I get back Nicola". No chance.

Hopefully they can do some hands on scouting in Barcelona and slip a copy of the DVD into Messi's kit bag!

Seriously though, if they are in Barcelona and Espanyol do have players we may now want, it wouldn't suprise me if we came back with a couple of Spaniards added to our ranks.

Biglia would be a brillinat signing would give us real strength in depth in the holding midfield position alongside Morgan, Cork and Ward-Prowse.

I would love Riquelme god knows how old he is but what a player. Would still be able to split open the toughest of defences and Ramirez would learn an awful lot from him. Seems like a similar move as Del Piero if true and I know who I would rather have. Loving these rumours chuck in Simao as well, happy days.

Biglia would be a top class signing, really would. OK not in a position we necessarily need extra players but signing an argentinian International who pulls the strings, would be on a closer wavelength to Ramirez than some of the others and would improve the balance of the squad as well with Cork more than comfortable at right back and Clyne having played left back in the past.

A pacey, clever striker would be a good signing I think, especially on loan. I like Rodriguez but don't think he's the impact player we sometimes need. Not sure if Fernandez is the answer but a good loan signing in that position would go down nicely.

I'd be very happy with a further option in midfield - I've mentioned Redmond before and think we could pick him up at a good price. He'd add depth and has the potential to be very good + can play right, left or through the middle.

Biglia is a quality player, he would be a great signing. However, that would mean that one of Cork and Morgan (probably Cork) would be dropped to the bench which he doesn't deserve.

Players know that signings may give them less game time but increases competition...though tbf our players work their socks off already.

Can't use this logic, though. Biglia is (if he adapts to the English game) better than Cork, so we wouldn't be able to not drop Cork because he "doesn't deserve it". Would never improve that way.

Am I right on thinking that this is the first time this season where I haven't wanted to sign a new keeper or defender? Think we are sorted at the back now.

Until the next injury. Adkins certainly got the defence sorted out in recent games and even the loss of Fonte wasn't catastrophic. Shows what organisation can do.

absolutely agree. Having another quality CM can only be good. Someone said earlier that our bench looked a little weak. Look at United/City/Chelsea, they all can change a team with equal quality to come in; that's what we need to progress.

Agree. If Biglia is available at the right price and wages then we should definately go for it.

Agree as well about the comment about a keeper and another centre back. Unless an outstanding centre back presents himself at a good price I think we have enough about us, defensively, to stay up.

An extra attaking player with pace is what we want now and I'll be happy.

Don't think we need to sign anyone. I would be excited if we signed another player but we still have lallana and mayuka to come back into the team, and with Guly playing his best football I think we are sorted.

Signing biglia will hinder JWP's development just as signing a left back could have hampered Shaw's development.

It will be interesting to see if he can get more out of Guly, Ramirez and Mayuka. Sometimes a tweak to the formation lets other players shine. Be nice to see Tadanari but I feel that he isn't rated for some reason.

If the aim is to be challenging for European football in a few years time then we need to improve in every position in the team. I'm not suggesting we go out and buy eleven new players but if players of top quality become available at the right prices then we need to snap them up. Obviously the main aim is to be in this league next year and it would make more sense for any major changes to take place in the summer but if they will improve the team get them in.

I think it has been shown in recent matches that we have a very good starting line up but we have very little in reserve. To be able to compete in the top half of the division you need a strong squad and be able to cope with injuries seamlessly. Players like De Ridder, Chaplow, Richardson, Fox etc are not good enough to be effective in the Premier League. The top sides can replace quality with quality.

Another way of looking at it is how many of our players would be good enough to play for a top 4 team? Theres quite a few in my opinion just not enough.

I know that may be a long way off but if that is the aim then that is how we have assess any new signings. We need to lose this small club mentality.

This could of been one the main reasons why NA was released, he was too loyal to his team and did not want a few big time players coming in and rocking the boat. Its tough, but if you get offered a better option then you should take it
