Bayos strength with Brichalls terrier like tenacity would create goals. Interesting the BBC are taking the story on regardless of if it is on twitter, there must be some legs to it.
I was reading on there earlier where it said that he has not ruled out a move but did not think he would be joining us still not fully believing it even thou BBC are decent with football news.
I am not sure if the BBC are jumping on the back of a story I saw from several days ago. There was a report released which trying to recall my memory came from a local Northampton media source. However, the link supplied wanted you to sign up, other than that it diverted you to Bayo's twitter page. I have just relooked after typing the above line and that link now works...http://www.northampton-news-hp.co.u...nwa-over-transfer-rumours-20130119191356.htm? All that happened was Bayo was alleged to have tweeted...“Some things happen because they are meant to and not because you want them to,” said Akinfenwa. Hence you can see at no point was the Gills mentioned, so has anyone seen anything different since, that links the Gills with Akinfenwa?
Sorry, I cannot make any logic in this story. I thought Bayo loved Northampton, he has helped lift them into the playoffs, surely it would be a bit of a stab in the back for Cobbler fans if he left them now? Why would he want to come to us and fight for a place up against Keds & Burton, not forgetting Birchall although I class the latter as a slightly different role.
Taken from Dan Roan's twitter 'Finally for now on Akinfenwa, understand Gillingham are yet to offer anything remotely acceptable to NTFC'.
It seems as if players may leave. but no mention of Bayo coming to us. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21121685
I don't know if Bayo coming to us is true or not. Personnally , I tend to take most stories like that with a pince of salt (although I confess I do repeat rumours that I have seen , as BRB will testify) but ,anyway I have always found that Sky Sports is 99% accurate when they say "Sky sports understands that so and so is in talks with whoever" and there is nothing on there as yet, and they tend to be one of the first.
I do trust BBC with this but it says they hear from a source and that may not be a good source so I am not going to really think much about it until anything happens.
Bayo coming back to us from Northampton would make no sense whatsoever! I thought he left us because he loves Northampton and/or because his family are there, why would anything be different now, espec with them doing much better these days. Having said that, would love it if he did come back! Anyone heard anything more about the Wright/Payne thing?
There has not been any more said about that but I would not be surprised if it happens (I am talking about the Wright bit)
Steve - I heard that MA is sorting the deal down at the Chip Shop. You think I'm kidding? Well Martin Allen definitely mentioned something about the Chip Shop - last paragraph...http://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/article/martin-comments-jan-20-609519.aspx? Early stages.
His family still live in Catford. If you read the link from BRB, in the 6th paragraph down he says Northampton is his 2nd family. I think there may be some truth in the story, This is the original link from The Chronical that was published earlier. http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/s...ers-striker-akinfenwa-sparks-transfer-specula
I think there is some truth in Gills trying to sign Bayo but don't think it will happen as I think we are trying to get him on the cheap. How much would he be worth? He is 30 and i believe he is out of contract in the summer.
In spite of MD saying kedwell is not for sale, rumours persist that he may go. Latest is an Ipswich bid. Know anything about this Hoadie? Don't need to divulge confidential info but do you believe he is leaving soon?
