Celtic assistant manager Johan Mjallby confirmed Burnley striker Charlie Austin is a player the club would consider if Gary Hooper left the club.
However, the Swede still expects Hooper to stay at Celtic Park beyond January.
“Right now we think Gary will stay on”

Mjallby said of Austin: "He might be on the shortlist. Charlie is a proven goal-scorer and he might come in handy in the future.
"But right now we think Gary will stay on, at least until the summer, and that will be great for the club."
Celtic turned down a bid for Hooper from Premier League side Norwich City on Friday, reported to be in the region of £5m.
Burnley paid a reported £1.8m to League One's Swindon Town for Austin in July 2011.
The 23-year-old has scored 23 goals this season after netting 17 last term.

Good record... similiar type of player as Hooper.

A good player in the English championship comes in at 10 million these days , no chance ( wouldn't want him anyway) the English market is the worst one to deal in .

All bought over 2 years ago, football has changed a lot in that time .

Forster was brought in the summer. There is nothing to stop us getting someone like Austin. Would be perfect hooper replacement. Sell him on in a year or two and replace with similar. Would prefer to see this happen in the summer than now though

Pud, I hate to disagree with you but Austin is 6ft 2inches and I am pretty sure he could
offer more in the air than Hooper who despite been very poor in the air still managed
to score loads of goals for us. I haven't seen near enough of Austin to be able to
comment on his ability to hold up the ball and link up with others. Pud do you know
what Austin is like doing these things. Normally Harry I would agree with you about
the English market but if we are doing business now I think we might have to go through
the British route, as we have little time to bed someone in like we may need with a foreigner

Discussion on Austin gone slightly off topic , good job it wasn't important.
However it shows what happens when the moderator Pud claims himself
that he is weak and needs strength.
