âSuch advance planning â including the provision of additional personnel, resources and equipment throughout the day, coupled with the outstanding efforts of the Club's grounds, stadium and safety staff, ensured that King Power Stadium was fully operational, despite the onset of heavy snow during Friday afternoon, in the hours prior to kick-off.
A spokesman for the Football League added: âIt is hugely unfortunate that so many ticket holders missed the game. However, these were exceptional and challenging circumstances that were outside of Leicester City's control.
"The Football League is satisfied - given that the referee had determined that the playing surface was playable, that both sides were ready to start the game and that a significant number of people were in the stadium - that it was correct to play the match."

Hours before kick off,while Leicester Tigers had til sunday for roads to gt sorted and wasn't as many people in cars as was during day time, not late at night when had people finishing work which is one of reasons why fans couldn't gt game on fri

Roads were just as bad round here yesterday but the big difference is the amount of traffic. Friday was mental, I said on the other thread it took my mate 4 hours to get out the city centre and 5 miles out in the country, but that was around 2/3pm when schools and businesses were sending everyone home and by 6 it had gone quiet so Leicester fans could most certainly get to the stadium by 7:45 if they wanted to. They didn't, simple as that. I know a lot of season ticket holders they just couldn't e arsed because of the cold weather.
Reading the statement from their club, it sounds like they share your view about some just not being arsed. I guess it's hard to think otherwise when they point out that the players, officials, Police, stewards and away fans got through.
The amount of traffic was still bad at 6:30 around town, i was driving on the outskirts of leicester town centre near Narborough road on way to ground nd it was hardly moving, I got to ground at 7:45 so if game wasn't pt bck i would of missed start of game

they may of got through bt it took way longer then if the conditions were normal, the groups of people u pointed out had to turn up so eventually they would gt there
Middlesborough team coach was late
LCFC players and staff parked their cars miles away from ground and walk / ran to ground
police would of been there most of day
@ 7pm their was only 2 officials at ground according to radio
like i said before in another post i nt defending fans that choice nt to go it was their decision
but some fans live in the countryside so would of took them longer nd then get back home late at night in bad conditions, i had drive bck to Groby nd that wasn't a easy drive bck

I was that way on Friday in desford the road was atrocious absolutely covered in snow. The people I know who didn't go we're from round there ie desford, newbold, barlestone, ibstock, Hinckley, bosworth.
Can't blame them really but if I was a Leicester fan I'd have been there regardless, park around western park where it was easy to get to and take a 20 minute walk to the ground. If it wasn't on sky I'm sure they'd all have been there.
I can't believe these threads slagging off other peopleâs attendances, people in glass houses and all that.
Do you honestly believe 10,000 Leicester fans paid for their tickets and then just couldnât be bothered to go? Evening kick-offs are a push for most people with work commitments, add the snow to that and it's easy to see why the attendance was so low.
I'm willing to bet that even with that low gate they'll have an average attendance well above ours for the season.
As for the rugby, there's been many threads on here making excuses for people not attending city games this season, low employment, moneys tight, too expensive...etc., do you not think some of these factors affect the non-city fans that live in the area as well? £16 for a friendly is a lot to ask and the interest for these games are low because the two teams will play each other 3 times in the next few months in games that actually matter.
