Hull have to be worried about Middlesborough and Watford for the time being, same for us imo, if we slip up, Boro and Watford could be right down our necks again, glad we have the goal difference point though, could prove vital.

I´m still saying that any 1 of 6 teams can make the top 2 & 1 of about 10 - 12 teams could make the P.O´s. I really think LC will make the top 6 tbh, but I ain´t saying any more... ask me again in May.

Current top 10 teams left to play,

Cardiff Away Middlesboro, Watford, Burnley, Hull,
    Home Leicester, Brighton, Forest

Leicester Away Cardiff, Brighton, Palace, Forest,
    Home Millwall, Watford

Hull Away Millwall, Brighton, Palace, Burnley
    Home Forest, Watford, Middlesboro, Cardiff

It’s the away form of both Cardiff and Leicester that may end up making the the difference.
21 of the 29 goals conceded by Cardiff have been away, they have scored 23, lost 5, drawn 2.

Leicester have conceded only 12 away goals but have scored only 16, lost 6 and drawn 3.

Hull home and away form is pretty even, but it does seem they have problem scoring goals only 21 at home and 17 away

I think Cardiff’s away games look a little harder than Leicester’s and of course if Leicester were to beat Cardiff at there place!!

Sorry to be boring here - but shouldn't a better time to judge the contenders be at the end of the transfer window when we know how strong each first team and squad are. If we are going to base it partly on managers who know what it is like to gain promotion from the PL then Hull and Palace have a slight advantage there (unlikely to bottle it unlike maybe Zola at Watford). It is looking very likely that the top 6 are likely to be the same (though not maybe in the same order) due to the point gap from 2nd/3rd (50) to 7th (41).
I honestly think that the points gap between 1st and 2nd will be less by the end of the season and to the fans saying Hull adding a striker will not make much difference - did Wood added to your squad make any difference (notice he scores a few against the lower teams but not against Middlesbrough).

I would put Cardiff and Leicester/Hull to go up with a play off final between Palace and Leicester/Hull

Looking at this i think our home form could be key. I would be expecting us to beat Millwall and Watford at home.

Cardiff certain to go up, still not very confident about our chances as we looked out of the running for second not long back, it's only because of our excellent 2013 form that we've clawed our way back. I'll be pleased to see the two Welsh teams in the Premier together, got a lot of Welsh family. Shame we may lose our tasty East Midlands derbies!

Interesting thing here is Hull have the most top ten teams to play still and are also in the worst position. We have the fewest. It is looking good for us but obviously there's miles to go yet and, as we've seen from Hull, it's not just the top sides that can cause you problems.

The top team comment you made is certainly an interesting subject - as there are 2 ways of looking at it. Number 1 you tend to, as a player raise your performances against the Cardiffs and Middlesbroughs and assume that say Peterboroughs and Sheffield Wednesdays are easier so you "lay off the power" somewhat. OR Against the top teams it is harder to perform and score goals (How many did Wood score against Middlesbrough compared to lower teams in the past few games).

Exactly... Wood to score against the lower teams, Nugent to score against the top ones... Perfect strike combination!

IF Leicester beat Cardiff and Hull beat them then the gaps only 4 points !!

Course it's looking great for Cardiff but
    It's far from over.

We seem to be better against sides that are mid table, we have a couple of them ie Forest and Brighton! Was going to put Burnley, but there is no way we will ever beat them again!

Watford play twice before we play again, if they win both, they could go above us in to 2nd...

Your forgetting that Hull is our last game of the season so there's a chance that the result might have no bearing on Cardiff! Hopefully we're promoted by then
