I would agree with Edge in that it is pretty presumptious of us to think we would advance rapidly to the EPL. The clubs would be okay financially Dan, but I think we would lose our identity on the way up. If we got to the EPL we would end up having to spend wads to compete and our team would no doubt be full of foreign players. I like the direction we are currently taking by giving the youngsters a chance. They would get a chance on the way up the leagues, but no doubt be sacrificed when we reached the big league. Mind you who's to say that won't happen when we are back in the SPL or whatever they will decide to call it.
I wouldnât want us to move for moral reasons too. Personally I find the amount of money involved in the English leagues to be obscene. Obviously thatâs a personal thing, but when clubs get parachute payments for being relegated that dwarf the economic debts of several third world countries it makes you wonder. Obviously I am speaking from my right on internet personaâs perspective. In reality I would actually fire over to the aforementioned countries in an inebriated stupor and ask them all to take my âgoâ.
The only consolation I would take out of joining the English league would be watching to see Hoopy try and spell Merthyr Tydfil if we drew them in the FA cup.
