Hell
Just wondering what other fans thought in regard to changes that we could expect to see? What is likely to happen to players that are on the fringes ie Chaplow Lee Mayuka and to a lesser extent Guly and Davis? Are we going to see a flurry of activity in the transfer market and several new faces brought in or sticking with what we have got? (Considering there is not long left in the transfer window?)
Opinions?

I hope we see players like Mayuka and Lee getting regular games from the bench. Perplexing to buy people like these and not get them on.

I can't see us signing many. Pinocchio has not got a lot of time to get to know the squad and assess where we need to back up, then scout replacements and finally enter negotiations.

Having said that, I think we are all aware now that a lot of this business occurs in the back rooms rather than from the manager.

He's a disciple of Bielsa, so a change of formation to 3-1-3-3. Exciting football but may take time, which we don't have.

Bielsa is the manager of Bilbao.

Search Bielsa 3-1-3-3 it will give you an idea of the philosophy behind it.

And when did Phil Thompson come into the fray..?

I don't think we are going to see much more on the transfer market maybe one more perhaps. Maybe a couple more going out perhaps. Then no matter which league we are in a huge clear out in the summer window with maybe 3/4 coming in. Am I right in that we can take loans in after this window closes, or not? Maybe if that is allowed he will bring a few loans in with a view to buy or something like that......

We might see some signings, we might see a change a formation. But I can't see any of our fringe players suddenly featuring more. It's not like we've got Nani, Balotelli and Kolorov all sitting in the reserves, struggling to get much game time. Our reserves are reserves for a reason!

Can't see a whole lot changing really apart from new coaching staff coming in. Adkins wasn't doing a lot wrong and Pochettino sounded faily happy with the squad, so I don't see a wave of incoming transfers other than what we had planned for already.

Rumour has it Cortese was unhappy with the lack of game time some of his high-profile signings like Lee and Mayuka were getting...

Can't really see that happening. In fact I don't see much changing. He seems to have been brought in at least partly because he shares a similar philosophy to what we are already used to.

I think they will want to make one big name splashy signing to assure the fans (and the new manager) that Saints can stay up and there is a long term plan still in place. Other than that, they will want to avoid major turnover as there's already enough going on. Astori would fit the bill as someone who the fans would be happy with, could help out now, and wouldn't require a change in tactics.

I suspect that if the Saints stay up there will be some massive changes and 5-6 players being brought in.

As good as Bielsa's Bilbao was, it's kind of all gone tits up now.

If thats the case then our team would be at the moment

Boruc
fonte forren hooiveld
cork schniderlin shaw
gaston
lallana lambert puncheon

-----------------Boruc
--Yoshisda-----Hooiveld-----Forren
Clyne-----Cork-----Morgan-----Shaw
---------------Ramirez
--------Lambert-----Rodriguez

3 at the back formations are tricky to pull off. Get it wrong and the poor fullback gets shafted. Unnecessary fiddling around at this stage.
