Well it certainly doesn't seem like a transfer rumour thread hence the wit.
I was commenting the comments that have now been moved, back on topic i'm still hearing Butland is on our list.
Cortese has made it clear the club needs to fund itself long term. As such I can't imagine MP is going to be allowed to throw away the whole squad. We will evolve and players will leave because they don't fit with his style/plan. And shock horror he will buy some players... the difference is he may attract and know players that we've never had a hope of before with his knowledge of Spain. If he does for us what Laudrup has done with Swansea then I won't be complaining.

I think Astori is dead, in fact I almost went to the British Heart Foundation charity shop today to deposit my £5 as per my bet earlier in the window, but I decided I might as well see the month out 1st.
Coutinho is a different story, I think this might have legs.
I do. I certainly wouldn't call it a done deal or anything, but I have always thought this had a reasonable chance of happening and still do. Cagliari still need to sell, Saints apparently still have the highest bid. A big name signing is probably needed now more than ever.
The biggest factor might be if Saints decide Forren has filled the need for a defender. But Astori is a level up in class, and I think he is too good to pass up if he is indeed available at 10 million Euros. Even if Forren and Astori are both left-footed, Forren/Astori is likely a better pairing than Fonte/Forren.
I would imagine they're both fairly competent with their right as well.
