Parker was great when he had modric and vdv around him last season, but he is a step down from sandro now, still a good player but we're going to miss sandro.

Even though signs are it looks long term, there's been no official statement yet as to how long he'll definitely be out. Lets hope it's not as bad as what we fear. He'll be a major, major loss. Statistically been the best DM in Europe this season.

Get better Sandro Beast!

Bad news for you lot. Sandro has been one of the best midfield players this season. Second half of the season is always going to be tough when injuries / fatigue etc start affecting squads.

As soon as we get Parker back we lose Sandro <doh>

Well we are going to have to buy a replacement now

It might be a blessing in disguise. No one is going to come sniffing for him in this transfer window and if he is out for a while, no one is going to want to sign him until he has proved himself fully fit.

Well that's a positive spin.

Following consultation with the knee surgeon, the Club can report that Sandro is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the season after surgery on his right knee earlier this week.

The Brazil international was forced off during Saturday's game against Queens Park Rangers after injuring both his Anterior Cruciate Ligament and Lateral Meniscus.

This is an injury which is not easy to come back from. Years ago, particuarly in the older players, a career was over with this injury. Sandro will be ok , but it will be a long recovery period.

Is this similar to Gazza's OS?

Certainly similar, but not certain if it's as severe as Gazza'a as I think there's more than 1 cruciate ligament. But even with modern surgery techniques, a return to playing is at least 6 months away and in most cases even longer.

...and he refused the stretcher and walked off! He's from the seventies that bloke!

Probably did them himself.

I bet he's one of those that refuses aneasthetic at the dentist!

I had a feeling it was bad, at the time I don't know if anyone else saw it, there was one angle that showed his face and I thought the eyes were going to pop out of his head, but unlike John Terry he didn't squeal like a pig!
