Its ok, I know what you mean.

I have a low threshold for the kiss-ass know-it-alls on here, especially the ones who talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. So I bite at them when I should let it go.

Yes, pure coincidence that your first post was to bump a thread you made under a previous name.

You have the cunning of Swiss chard, and the quicker you come to recognize that, the better off we'll all be.

with the new TV deal next season, clubs like Saints will make three times as much from TV as they do from supporters.

In short, they don't actually need us now.

But there is a slight problem that the "product" which is sold overseas, includes the atmosphere's at games, otherwise the Prem would not have flourished.

So, they do need fans... and annoying for clubs, they need the noisy, boisterous fans who make most of the noise.

However, on the flipside again, they know that fans are suckers. They can have their Sky TV deal cake and eat it, by continually upping ticket prices and fans will pay it when they toss out the "loyalty" card that so many swallow hook, line and sinker.

I actually hate myself for loving Saints and football this much. I hate the fact that I have gone batshit mad today about the news. It shows that I still care deeply for a club and a sport that also sickens me in many ways.

See what happens when you chill a bit, come on mate you are a Saint at heart, when has that ever been straightforward, rough with the smooth, my blood pressure levels have been critical recently, wouldn't it be nice to have a comfort zone? Maybe the new guy can effect that, no one knows.

Hope you guys get relegated after this. Not the fans' fault, but it's the only thing that will hurt those who made this decision.

That, CBK, is the most sense you have said all day. Sorry if that sounds like I'm patronising you, it's not intentional.

As I have said many times before, I never wanted the Premier League to be formed and I didn't want and still don't want SKY TV coverage. I firmly blame all the sheep who took up the offer of SKY TV. They took us to where we are today, which is something I fully envisaged back in 1992. But it is here and Football has completely turned into an entertainment business and is no longer a pure sport. However, the fact is, Southampton FC is part of that entertainment industry, and as such, it is better to be at the top than at the bottom. Do you think the owners of Man City give a toss..? The owners of ManU give a toss..? Of course they do, as soon as it starts to adversely affect their income. If people don't like the direction that SFC have taken to compete with the likes of the other clubs then they should go and support Eastleigh Spitfires.

He was clear and easy to understand in the couple of sentences he said in English, so I suspect his accent won't be a problem when he learns more of the language. He came over as pleasant and personable...if that was all that was needed, we'll be fine. Just seen Merson hoping we go down because of this....hypocrite, he was against us all the time.

I had a bitch about Merson the other day after he was so delighted when Stoke equalised against us. It wasn't until someone pointed out 'what do you expect from an ex Pompey player' that I realised why he was so anti-saints.

Yes, but relegation hurts the fans more, because they don't have the option of moving on. Sacking a manager does not make Saints deserving of relegation. The club is not one man...it includes the players (who got us here) and the fans (who provided the income and backing for the team).

No it won't, the fans have come through successive promotions with Adkins. Anyone who thinks they are now an established Premier League club is insane. Anyone who would stop supporting because of relegation is a glory hunter. Nicola Cortese's statements are a disgrace to any self-respecting fan.

No mate, this is my tipping point. A line has been crossed and today has opened my eyes to the horror that is modern football. Sad thing is, I know its been like this for years, but you choose to ignore some things that conflict with your own moral compass because you enjoy going to game so much. So I'm a sellout as much as anyone.

But this season, I havn't enjoyed it.

I can see the way things are going and it will only get worse and more expensive for the real fans.

If only Nigel Adkins wasn't such a nice bloke who I genuinely emphasied with, it wouldn't be so hard. I'd have happily stuck with Adkins if we had got relegated two season in a row. I feel a sense of betrayal that I'm being made to be a part of because its MY club doing the betraying.

I find that morally, very very hard to deal with.

I know i am rarely the voice of reason on here, however after calming down from the near tear enducing news this morning i figured everyone could do with a thread to express their true opinions.

I for one am very dissapointed with the lack of respect Nigel has been shown, a manager that has done so much did not deserve a chariman to go worming behind his back talking to other managers.

Another thing i am desperatley dissapointed by is the fact that us as fans were never given the chance to say goodbye to Nigel in a West Brom away style. And truly show our appreciation for what he has done.

However, Whatever you think about Nicola Cortese- He has never lied, and has always achieved what he promised too. When he said we will never be relegated with him as a chairman, we are left with no choice but to trust him and his actions.

We are now left in an awkward position where we have no real choice other than to support Pochettino and pray to God that the chariman knows what he is doing.

Fell free to disagree or agree with what i have said, i rarely actually start articles myself but felt the need to after todays events.

First off. I am totally shocked that Cortese pulled the trigger on our Nigel, NA is a class guy, he has taken the club from the depths, back to the promise land. He is a Saints legend, who will not be forgotten.

I totally understand peoples anger to NC, but we must all move on. Back the new guy, give him a chance, at the end of the season, we may all be looking back on what a fantastic job the guy has done, of course, things could all go wrong.

Vent your passion to the team and the new coaching staff, we all can see how a negative atmosphere affects a team, such as Chelski, dont let it happen at Saints.

Onwards and upwards.

I can't blame fans for hoping we get relegated, if it were another club who did this I'd probably want them to get relegated.
