We've got better alternative targets anyway. I'm hearing talk of Ajax's Siem De Jong being lined up now.

It's unlikely but great if there's substance to it. Would much rather have Aubamayeng than Remy any day, so just keep calm and see how we react to it.

We want players that are right for NUFC, not idiot mercenaries that are in poor form. If I wake up tomorrow and find we've actually signed Remy I'll be gutted after this little stunt...

Agree totally. Players need to be committed to the cause.
Onwards and upwards.

This mercenary bul**** is daft it's not like we are man united !!!!! Have any of you thought about how much the agents will be getting from QPR it's not all about Remys wages , I supect a few back handers given how late the change of heart was. This is Harry Redknapp we are talking about.

Looks like all the **** I was getting yesterday about eating humble pie deserves my hoop cleaning for.

128 users browsing? <yikes>

If Remy prefers to play in front of 18,000 rather than 52,000 then I think we know what motivates him. <ok>

I think the difference is wages must be massive perhaps we offered 35k they offered 100k! if that's the case you can hardly blame the lad if you ask me. I also think the relegation clause they offered is something Mike Ashley would never do.

Yes, that was the insinuation. <ok>

Remy will get 6 months in London then he can look forward to another pay day in the summer once the 'hoops' get relegated.

Yeah and you ahve plans for a new stadium and are very ambitious to say the least. I can see why a player would with a relegation clause for 100 k per week as its only 4 months if it goes worng and if you stay up you will buy a few more world class players in the summer and wallah. If he came here it's 40- 50 k maybe get relegated and then see Ben Arfa etc sold in the summer if we stay up or not.

Word is he's set for 96k per week with a relegation clause.

I'd rather we'd given that kind of money to Demba Ba! Thank Christ we've stuck to our guns and swerved this one...

Why do people have to be so childish? Obviously you weren't calling him that earlier when he was signing for you. We have some idiot posters on our board as well who were attacking him last night when it looked like he was joining you. Its so stupid.

If you had of got him I would have wished you all the best and then moved onto our next target. These mutli-millionaire morons masquerading as professionals these days only go where suits them. Us fans should never get at each others throats over them.

To be fair, most of y'all are a good bunch.

I think QPR will buy 3 or 4 top players and will stay up.

Bang on mate well said.

All footballers go where the money is that's what it's all about - some fans expect loyalty as if they were playing for the team the support which isn't ever going to happen. I mean this kid isn't going to think yeah I'll go to club in a similar league position for half the money . They also forget agents are involved and they persuade the player also.

I love how people banging on about our poor negotiations and offers. 40-50k a week to play in Europe with top international players?

What exactly have our club done wrong here exactly?

If qpr want to let honest Harry sink them like he has plenty of other clubs then crack on. We are better off without mercenaries. On to the next target

What's childish about what I said? I'm not at your throat at all.

I have absolutely no problem with where Loic Remy ends up – well that's not true because I don't want him at Newcastle now obviously.
All this squabbling over players most of us have little knowledge of is madness. He's unproven in the Premier League and he IS in poor form. Why would Marseille sell him otherwise?

We have allegedly offered him 40k a week for 5.5 years. QPR have allegedly offered him 96k per week with a relegation clause and bonus for staying up.
Newcastle are in Europe, have more points on the board and look better equipped to stay up, fair?

So what are his motivations for picking QPR instead? He prefers the kit?

Players go where they get the best deal. At that rate I'm relieved we didn't try to match your terms. Fine by me, move on! :D

It'll beinteresting to see how thinsg pan out, however we are ina crisis and we are not prepared to do anything about it. We will go down if we don't sign some good players within 2 weeks. The fact is wew are offereing 30-40k per week but in all seriousness it's noweber near enough to get a player of his quality when we are sitting 2 points from relegation. The fact is we should ahve done this in the summer AFTER WE FINISHED FIFTH AND SPENT NOWT. So that is what the clubs done wrong.

He wouldn't have been a mercenary coming to Newcastle though as we pay much lower wages.
The attraction for French based players in general for the prem is part tax related though.

To add to the other 22 they've bought over the last couple of years that have taken them as far as the bottom of the table? :emoticon-0105-wink:
