I'm not sure it's the case of playing Torres because he has to but I think that Benitez was trying to help with Torres' confidence. Basically saying, yeah Ba scored twice on his debut but you're still my main man. Torres is a confidence player and I can see the reasoning. In the cold light of day and given Ba's 10 minute cameo last night, the decision was probably wrong but then hindsight is a wonderful thing. Personally Ba deserves a run of games now because he immediately seems to give us that outlet up front and a bit more options but I suspect he'll rotate the 2 regularly.

We had the same problem against Swansea and QPR as Barca had against us (not comparing our quality to Barca). Last night we passed the ball about infront of 10 Swansea players but couldn't find any penetration. We needed a plan B (Demba Ba). Although this was realised, eventually, by Rafa, it was far too late for him to change the game (although he nearly did!). When a game is open Torres can be effective, but games at the Bridge rarely are these days. Rafa should have realised the way in which the game was going at half time and made the change. On another point..... What is wrong with 4-4-2?? As much as I hate them and I appreciate that they get the rub of the green more often than not but Man U play 4-4-2 and have always been there or there abouts in the Premier League! 2 wingers, 2 midfielders and 2 up top.
