About to join Dortmund

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-exit-Borussia-Dortmund-press-conference.html

Nuri Sahin's unhappy spell at Liverpool has ended after Borussia Dortmund announced they have signed him for a second time.
Sportsmail revealed earlier this week the Bundesliga champions were putting the finishing touches to a deal aimed at cutting short the Real Madrid midfielder's season-long loan at Anfield.
It appears to have been accepted by all parties after Dortmund called a press conference for 7pm today local time to confirm that Sahin has rejoined them and will link up with his new team-mates at their winter break training camp in Spain.

Sahin, 24, never made the impact Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was hoping for and has not played in the Premier League since early November.
He alienated Rodgers by complaining that he was being used out of position, and from that point on, Liverpool were looking for ways to get him off their wage bill.
Dortmund were happy to oblige and have put together a package that has reunited Sahin with coach Jurgen Klopp, who brought the best out of him during their first stint at the Westfalenstadion.

We ****ing wasted his talent. THe only good thing that can come, as 6D pointed out, is that freeing up Cole and now Sahin has at least opened up 150K in wages. This should be able to get us someone with top talent.

massively disappointed. He wasn't free, as many people have said, we have spent a lot on him, cerca 5mil loan fee and almost all his wages, which are huge, only to send him back after not giving him a shot. It's pathetic and I'm disappointed Rodgers is still trying to flog the dead horse Downing and not work on real talent like Sahin

Meh. I thought he'd be a great signing at the time but frees up some wages. Was worth the gamble but sometimes players just don't fit. Good luck to him and maybe BR will now be able to bring in someone else instead. I know someone who won't be happy though <whistle>

Nice sig Bozzman <ok> That'll kill my phone loading times though.

Do we still have to pay the full loan fee though because I'm pretty sure it was staggered payments?

Maybe he was wasting his own talents though BCR. Just a thought but great talents are **** all use if their hearts not in it. Isn't it possible that since he found out Real didn't have him in their plans he's been trying to arrange this deal all along and BR knew it. These deals rarely get set up overnight after all.

And yet BR still plays Downing, who only when told he can **** off from Liverpool admitted it gave him a slight kick up the arse.

Fair point mate that I can't argue with. I guess as one of our assets he thinks at least if Downing gets a volley and starts to play better we'll get some cash for him if/when he sells him.

Still can't believe this. He is such a good player too. Should have been Sahin-Lucas-Gerrard from day one.

My feelings on Sahin , and Im getting a similar vibe from you lot too is this

No problems with Sahin leaving, he wasnt anywhere near as good as we had hoped although partly due to being played out of position half the time. The issue is we appear to be weakening the sqaud again, when BR said in Dec it needed strenghtening. Ince alone will not remedy this, we need someone else, loan or buy, probably a number 10

It didnt work that is it really. I'm sure he's a very goid player and will prove that at Dortmund.

Good luck to him.

Hopefully we buy someone. This has pretty much hardened my opinions with regards to loan deals not being in our best interests.

Sahin never cut it. He never played better than people like Suso and Pacheco, who both rarely play and who both are on vastly lower wages. Sad to see him go as he could've been very good, i just don't think he suits the EPL. Hopefully someone else comes in to replace him.

Massive waste of dosh that. He looked like a tart in the EPL. Could have been worse, you could have bought him & he'd have been Aquilani II.

You haven't half bought some ****e in recent years.

Hence, why, he isn't a no. 10. He should have been our Alonso and those saying he is ****, he has the quality, WE didn't use him right. He was never going to win that battle with Allen. Also for being so ****e, he was our 4th leading goal-scorer.

But he is gone, time to move on. That should free up some wages and hopefully more time for hendo.

Can any of you honestly see us doing a lot more in this transfer window?

I'm gonna say no, 1 or 2 players tops with one being Ince ...

That isn't saying much is it. I think i'm probably 6th highest goalscorer. He takes way too much time on the ball, something most players have been guilty of this season but have changed their ways. He didn't.

We'll move on, like you said Hendo is playing very well at the moment and hopefully that continues and we won't need Sahin, which we haven't all season.
