Nowt worth noting, as far as I'm concerned. 1. Half season tickets, sadly with Bates prices, so no benefit to fans (was probably in Bates plans anyway, now that gates are critically low) 2. 1 'prospect' signed from the lower leagues 3. Opportunities for early, pre-prepared signings in transfer window squandered (Tongue is the screaming example - if we are indeed going to sign him!). 4. And now, it would appear that there's no change of policy on BBC Radio Leeds ... Gareth Jones ‏@garethjones25 Just found out @BBCLeeds still not allowed into pre-match #lufc press conferences. Very disappointing news. Maybe things aren't changing As far as moving forward is concerned, it seems to be all talk, no action. And too many Bates policies maintained when change is required.
It's certainly looking like it, isn't it. Perhaps the first people they should sack are their PR men & advisers (like Bates).
Some change from what early summer promised. A billionaire that would bankroll our return to the pl, or at least thats what we hoped. Typical Leeds though, if anyone could manage a **** takeover, it would be us. Still, let's hope were wrong chaps
the worst one is not being allowed into conferences very odd, either it shows they have not yet taken hold (if so, they are slow) or KB still has influence, or in fact they think its a splendid idea to keep the BBC out. All of those options worry me.
Nothing's changed, I'm still depressed as hell, and after being made up a few weeks ago especially when the lads were battering top opposition. Bates is still around, the club seems to be skint, no signs of ambition, manager deflated, no sign of players coming in and yet we've been looking forward to another window, no news coming out of the club for us mushrooms to hear/read, still linked with selling better players, still signing older players who can't cut it. - mind you we've not been in court for a few weeks
I just can't help in think that GFH are a little naive, they said that they don't know how to run a football club (or words to that effect) and are in a 'transitional' phase but it is a huge mistake to keep KB and SH at the club... I can't help think that the muppet Harvey is still behind these sorts of things. Come on GFH, get the two cancers out of our club (you can take Peter Lorimer off our payroll too, if you ask me... he may have done a lot for our club in the past but he's just a deluded fool now) and start the club afresh with new policies and happier fans!
In any business, good communications are vital. You don't need to know how to run a club to have a good communications policy in place. We don't even have that! Can't blame that on their predecessors! A simple statement as to why BBC Radio Leeds are not permitted entry would defuse this stupid situation. either that or let them in. They're just making bullets for people to fire at them!
The half season tickets would never have happened under bates, or they'd have happened already. They have to be based on the current pricing scheme, or they would have to give partial refunds to current season ticket holders.
Exactly right. To compensate, hey could have given us ST holders a credit against next years ST. Now that WOULD be a statement of intent. All we've got is a continuation of the Bates regime.
Change takes time. It takes extra time when you're having to appease bates to humour him and get him to play nicely.
Actually, I disagree in this case. GFH should have had a business plan & basic policies in place before they began negotiations 8 months ago. They're very media-savvy, & are allegedly Leeds fans (probably of 8 months standing!), so I'm sure they would have been well aware of our thoughts on ticket prices, and would most certainly have researched our prices against everyone else's (or perhaps might even have bought one once, being such big fans!). As for Bates, GFH stated at the weekend that the buck now stops with them (they were pissed, right enough, and well aware their comments were being tweeted, with no retractions or statements since) . He has no power whatsoever.
He might still have bargaining chips in the shape of whether he calls in the debt from the preference shares, and whether he'll play ball with the rebuying of the ground (since we all know he owns that and TA) - they may have to keep certain policies in place just to stop him from throwing a massive hissy and make him feel he's contributing some how.
Again, I have to disagree. For once they have him over a barrel. The preference share t&c's stated that they must be redeemed for £4m in the case of a takeover. This has been widely circulated, and long before the TO. So if the terms were followed, this transaction would have to be settled at TO time. My understanding is that there is a fixed agreement in place for both TA & ER re. the price payable for their purchase. I'm hoping GFH will have been sensible enough to have that arrangement transferred to them as part of the TO.
There is a fixed price agreed for ER and TA, which means if the owner decides to sell then they have to sell back at the fixed price - but who says they HAVE to sell at all?
