The initial euphoria surrounding the possible early doors signings of Canas and Iago,(really love that name),and the more fanciful acquisition of Villa, seem to have faded away.
    So,is that it then?
Has our transfer window closed already?
Or will there be a late surge of activity, resulting in the inability to get all the paperwork done in time?
Well,we do have previous on that, don't we?

(Apologies to Erich Maria Remarque for my blatant plagiarism)

That initial euphoria was fan and a little media based but in the main rumour. Nothing official has come from the club regarding sprecific signings and no doubt they probably wont tell us until they are sure all the i's are dotted and t's crossed. It is only the first week in January after all. No need to panic I am sure the Board have their plans and will let us know when they are good and ready. remember no news does not equate to no activity. It seems ML doesn't like to alert other clubs to who we are looking at just in case we get gazumped. I am quite happy to be told pretty much when I see them at the Liberty with the scarf over their heads.

I don't think this is what any of us expected though - maybe ML didn't have clear targets ?

trundle,I know it's only the 7th,but the Forum was a bit quiet.
Discussing possible transfers is always a good subject, don't you think?
We have suffered in the past as a result of "late drama",what with all the clearances needed because we are a Welsh Club.
This thread is to remind everyone that time really does fly.

Bap,I got the impression that Canas and Iago were in advanced stages of negotiation, and that many other mooted players were indeed "fan and media based",and consequently could be ignored,Villa, etc.
It would be tragic if the rather long winded clearances we have to endure prevents any transfers being finalised before end of month. It happened previously.

Rumours that we are interested in midfielder Juan Dominguez of Deportivo La Coruna and even that Danny Graham may be going the other way ...

I agree it has happened previously (once) and appreciate what you are saying but nothing official has come from the club. Jenkins has stated there is money available and ML has said there will be some new faces but not like in the Summer. To me sounds like he is trying to keep fans expectations down. We all know January is the worst time to buy which is probably why activity is kept to a minimum.

As for Iago (hope he aint the parrot from that animated movie) and Canas although there is lots written, again, no one from the club has mentioned it. As I said previously just because they haven't told us it doesn't mean they are waiting to do anything until the 31st. I think our Board have learnt from the past and based on the Summer signings in ML I trust. (Barring Ki of course:wink:) Only joking I am sure he will come good soonish.

Vetch, transfer windows are like women you have to have to tread carefully with a long slow build up leading to a frenzied finale!

    glamexile.

Well,my friend, you can have your "transfer window frenzied finale".

As for me I prefer achieving it whilst under the spell of Bruch's Violin Concerto No.1. :emoticon-0111-blush

Alternatively,Ravel's "Bolero" at a push,or even shove.

Vetch I have this vision of you and Jane Torvill in my head now. Talk about skating on thin ice - mind you it could be a new striking partnership!

    Not a bad shout there,Bap.

Mind you,the finale of Sibelius' 2nd Symphony always bring demands for an encore.

This is getting to be like desert island discs - if pushed into as corner then its Tchaikovsky's 4th symphony 4th movement for me

Another good shout, glam. The final movement of his 5th is also quite remarkable.

So much fantastic music out there, and it makes a nice change to discuss it. No fights on the horizon.
