Has signed for Spurs on a pre-contract ahead of a summer move. Are you disappointed Arsenal didn't get him? He's going to be free, reportedly on 67k. He's young, and seems decent. He would have made a good addition to play in the centre, however, I don't think he's good enough as a forward to play up front in any of the 3 positions.
Looks a decent player but i think we have other priorities, a DM and a right sided attacking player that isn't Chamberlain
No, not really. Like I said after the games against Schalke, he was decent but nothing special. He is also not really the sort of player that we need at the moment. We need a DM or even a powerful central midfielder.
I like him. Better than Ramsey, nowhere near as good as Goetze but a good all rounder. Saying that though he's not the 'kind' of player we need.
He seems like a decent player, but as mentioned we've got other priorities a DM or strong CM is a must. I also think another left sided defensive player is needed. We've got Eisfeld coming through who is going to be a really good creative midfielder, I think he looks a much better prospect that Holtby.
You obviously haven't seen Eisfeld play then. He was likened to Mario Gotze and both were developed at Dortmund. In the short time that he's had first team action he's basically bossed the midfield. He needs some time to develop his game, I think a loan spell would be great for him. But he's going to be a big player. I'm not saying Holtby isn't any good, he seems like a tidy ball player. But we played against him in the champions league this season at Shalke, the press were raving about him before the game, but to be honest, he was nothing special. I think Ramsey will eventually turn out to be a better player than Holtby.
Better than Ramsey on current form but not what we need as mentioned previously. Don't get the hype surrounding him to be fair.
Watched him a lot then SC? Doubt it. I saw Eisfeld in the game v Reading and he did look very good. I won't be judging him on one game though. Love it how football fans react when a player chooses another team over theirs. I'm sure if he had signed for you we would be saying the same things!
Possibly. I think it's more likely though if we'd signed Holtby that our fans would be saying that we've gone for the cheap option over real quality.
Watched him over the two games we had in the CL. Not that much as you say. He had two good performances against us as I pointed out in the second leg match thread (and my quote was misused ). I could also say that Squillaci had a good game for us, once. You simply cannot make judgements about a player based on only watching a few games. However if you read this thread I mentioned earlier that we really had no need of this player due to already having too many midfielders.
Seeing as you guys have taken the time to create a thread then comment about a player who has come to us rather than you I can see only one side having the inferiority complex and its not us! I'm sure Arsenal87 would agree with me....
