That is true but those rivalries were artificial and Sky created.
How many United fans now consider Arsenal a rival? My guess is not many. If Spurs were top of the table and Arsenal were in the 2nd/3rd tier they'd still always be Spurs biggest game. The United fans from outside of Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester areas that were brought up on Sky hadn't a clue who City were until 4 years ago.
Not surprised.Most of United's support probably comes from Southern England.They think they need a passport to go North of Watford!!!!!! I include my brother inlaw whose an armchair United fan.....
It's one of the reason why I hate Sky and the media's condescending remarks that Northern fans have more passion than Midlands and down South.
A huge chunk of Northern clubs fanbase comes from down South (United, Pool and Leeds in particular). Chelsea, Arsenal & Spurs sell out every week and it's all local (i.e London and Home County based support). Even West Ham have good support given how ****e they are and always have been. As for the Midlands clubs, none of their support tends to come from further than 20 miles away from where the clubs are based, it really is struggling for numbers but it's not easy given the fact every corner you turn there is a gloryhunter in a United or Liverpool shirt (even Chelsea and Arsenal now to a lesser extent)
Leeds? Tha's got to be kiddin'. I think most kids in Brighton would support Brighton before Leeds. There even better at cricket these days dahn theer.

The Dutchman is in dispute with the Italian giants and has not played since September, and that has seen him linked with a January switch.
No bids have materialised, but Redknapp has revealed that QPR have been invited to make a move for the 28-year-old.
But Redknapp insists his wages, which he claims are £200,000-a-week, are too much for them.

"Of course I do. However, he's on about £200,000 a week and now he wants to join QPR?
"I won't name the agent, but let's just say I think a deal is unlikely."
Inter have asked Sneijder to take a pay cut if he wants to stay at the club, something he has not agreed to do."

Sheer madness if that happens. If QPR were 10 points better off I'd go for it but that's too risky.
I don't care where in the bottom half they are, a player of Sneijder's quality shouldn't even consider them regardless of how much they could pay. If he just wants money he should be looking to Russia or Qatar.
Sounds like the usual old bollocks from Harry. Unnamed agent offers him Sneijder? Yeah right!..even if QPR were going to pay him the supposed £200k per week, why on earth would he want to go to QPR and play, effectively, in the English second division? Nobody is That greedy, surely - not even Ade!.
Sounds to me like Harry trying to encourage more players to go there by saying "look, we're an important club, Sneijder wants to come here"

...which would backfire horrible if Sneijder comes out saying he has no intention of playing in Scotland.
As for the NLD debate. As a Gooner, the NLD will ALWAYS be the biggest rivalry and biggest game of the season. Even when we were battling Utd for the title and Spurs were languishing in midtable, the NLD was still the game that we always wanted to win.

It's a load of rubbish to say all London club's support is Southern based.Just look at the banners around your own ground.I travel to games with my local supporters club and i know for a fact that Spurs have a North Wales supporters club who travel to both home and away games.When i go to games home & away i see Arsenal coaches from all over the UK

This whole Sneijder to QPR thing has parts of it's origins in the BBC Sporf twitter account, they got #SneijdertoQPR to top trend in the UK and although there may have been some grounds in the rumour it is strongly possible that a lot of the coverage it has received is because what seemed like half of Twitter was talking about it last night. Hell they even convinced SkyBet to put up special odds on it it seems. Shows the influence social media can have on this sort of thing I guess...
All was a bit of an overstatement, we have supporters groups all over the country especially West Midlands and Rangers fans go to a lot of our away games up North. But It isn't on the same scale as the thousands en masse that travel hundreds of miles to Old Trafford and Anfield each week. You only need to go to Euston on "Derby" Day to see this

I already said that fans like Piskie and yourself that have gone/go to games would see the NLD as their biggest game but fans that only have knowledge of their club by means of media wouldn't. There is no way a Nigerian Arsenal fan sees Spurs as a bigger game than say an Arsenal fan from Edmonton, Stoke Newington or further afield people like Cym and SJW that have been/go to Arsenal games so are immersed in the club's history and culture but therein lies the fan and supporter argument....
