Walks off during a match in Italy due to racist abuse...his team mates and the other team all do the same ... Italian FA finally look set to take racist abuse seriously ... Take a bow son!

It was a friendly against a lower league side and it seems that a number of the home fans were pretty pissed off with the racist idiots that forced the abandonment.
Hopefully this'll have the appropriate impact, but it also wouldn't surprise me to see UEFA fine Boateng! <laugh>

Damn straight he did. He and his fellow players might get fined but the fines will be spare change for them if previous fines are anything to go by. This is probably the only way for players to effectively combat this sort of thing, and the solidarity from the opposition team and the majority of the fans was great to see. If a minority are going to racially abuse a player then every player denies every fan what they've paid to enjoy. It's only a matter of time surely before the majority of fans turn on the minority.

Of course the cynic in me is thinking - how long until a player claims racist abuse from the crown and then convinces his team and the opposition team to walk off in protest. What happens then if it can be proved to be 'the boy who cries wolf'? But in the case of definite racist abuse KPB's actions are admirable and an example to all IMO.

Don't know how much racist abuse he was getting but fair enough since it's a friendly. I wouldn't like to see players do that in a proper match unless it was relentless abuse they were getting.

The stadium announcer had already asked the fans to stop the racist chants so I am guessing it was bad

They have some high profile fascist politicians and a shed load of very racist/xenophobic politicians...kind of suggests Italian society is very broken. For all the problems in the UK at least we, by and large, are a very mixed, supportive society. (I know there is racism here but Italy, Spain and Greece seem to have really big problems with racism....maybe it's part of the Euro crisis...kind of blaming/scapegoating those nearest you for economic problems rather than the MPs who you can't get to?

Nor me, but tbf, drastic action by individuals so far has proved a waste of time, drastic action by a team scuppering the result of a match is a different ball game :) and has to dealt with, in this instance I think its a shame it was only a friendly.

Well yeah, don't you? I'm not saying that the chanting's right or that there shouldn't be action taken against the club and fans but I'm sure the fans involved were fine with the match being abandoned since it was because their chanting caused a black player to try and kick the ball at them and walk his side off the pitch. I'm not sure what it achieves.

i dont YV,but it seems as though this disease isnt going to go away so as could be seen in the clip..the innocent fans were pissed off..let it carry on, let the players walk off at every opportunity until the racists start to get their arses kicked by the majority on a regular basis.
