vinney - I obviously do not like to mislead supporters, therefore, I have only posted a link just before your post which suggests said player is available and free. However, if you want speculation, some media sources have jumped the starter gun or is that the finishing tape... http://www.kentsportsnews.com/mcdonald-tipped-for-gills-return-02-01-2013/ What do I think of either players chances of coming to the Gills, I do not have a clue but the above are news sources out there.
I'd be very pleasantly but totally amazed if Jackson came back. Although he's not starting for Norwich he's often a playing substitute. If Norwich wanted to give him more time on the pitch there would surely be a queue of Championship clubs who would offer him that. No need for him to drop 3 divisions.
Theo Walcott- he would add a bit of pace to the team, gets a lot of goals since Arsenal have started to play him as a centre forward. Frank Lampard- I would class him as a #goalmachine, he is a legend maybe it could be him. Ryan Giggs- Well a lot would say he is a #goalmachine and not just on the pitch (should not have gone there) I have only just noticed that Simeon Jackson is on the list, maybe it could be him and that is a bit more realistic, still I don't think that would happen as much as I would love him back at Gillingham.
We would get into the Championship I think, Scholes and Giggs in midfield with Lampard is Premiership on its own but with Walcott and Simeon Jackson upfront and also Franco Di Santo that is good enough, some clubs need to be offering contracts quickly as these are good players.
Lets hope Allen does not sell Jack Payne with Gregory and possiably Wright coming into midfield. If Payne does go it better be for over 250k.
It has been one crazy night. Even had Spiller and Richards stirring up all the Gills fans on twitter, insinuating they know stuff. Saw this earlier tonight: http://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/article/martin-post-southend-transfers-jan-2-575420.aspx However Martin did concede that some players may have to leave the club in order to bring a couple more in, however he didn’t want to comment on any speculation or rumours. He said: “In the next few days I might have to have a chat with a few of the players who I have found difficult to get in the squad. Danny Kedwell wasn’t involved [from the start] today because he was poorly and has been sick for the last couple of days so he had a fitness test at nine in the morning.
24m danny kedwell ‏@DKedwell Great to be playing with Gregory again top player top bloke great signing!!
25m Stephen Lowrie ‏@s_lowrie @DKedwell you leaving??? Expand 24m danny kedwell ‏@DKedwell @s_lowrie I hope not mate Expand
things can change in an instant, so don't believe to much what danny kedwell tweets....maddog has the last word !
The fansonline guys seem convinced that we will be signing Cody McDonald Today! We've all heard the rumours that he was seen in the 442 club the other day and apparently the other players were confirmed as Leon Legge, Myles Weston (Legge's Best Mate) and Steven Gregory was the unknown player.
I do wonder now, if the rumours of Kedwell going come true whether Bayo might be the replacement. Bayos holding of the ball with Birch, Burton and Weston available to play off him could be pretty special.
Gills players that I feel could be shipped out in one form or another at some point this january.... Hawkes (already out on loan) Flitney (already out on loan and hopefully moved on) Evans (send on loan) Essam (shame but send on loan) Haysman (already out on loan) Brunt (already out on loan) Brown (already out on loan) Carter (send on loan) Hare (send on loan) Parter (send on loan) Miller (already out on loan and) Montrose (loan/permanent deal) Payne (may well go permanently) Dack (possible loan) Strevens (loan/permanent deal) Kedwell (loan/permanent deal) Birchall (loan but hope he stays and grows with us) Jackman ( shame but loan/permanent deal) even though we're doing just fine, feel we could have a mix going out.
All good Gills signing players but where does that leave the young players. Will Davies, Dack , Essam or any other youth player get any matches this season. They are Gills future and should still be given match time. Payne the best of the bunch should not be on the transfer list either.
Here's a link from GillsConnect to back up the Cody Mac story: http://gillsconnect.com/s/Welcome_Gills_Fans.html
Alternative thought for the day: Some people stir up twitter last night and all hell breaks loose. Players come into the spotlight. KSN run a story. Then we see outlets such as the Coventry FootyMad jump on a story. Follow that with gillsconnect claiming again...'GillsConnect have been informed from a reliable source from within Priestfield.' - and the usual January merry go round is well under way. Other sites are still pumping the mill with old reports from yesterday or one's that have already done the very early morning rounds, to claim their late piece of the cake - so another day sees people that follow the continued trail like the story of the pied piper. Some may deny playing a tune but that would just be lies, if you so much as have a turn of breath you have a motive. So whether a modern day Robin Hood or sitting in your Ivory Tower, what is the truth in all the speculation? Surely the real question is who makes way? People will not realise, the rumour mill can alternatively be a cruel and hurtful life for that lower league player(s) as the rumour mill grinds. They have families and commitments too. Whence they served you well, we seem to turn as if at the beach having fun, casting them off like a stone in the sea. The life of a football supporter eh or maybe just nothing more than club before sentiment as we seek our glory. Time for my medication. The End!
You did allow this thread for rumours. It is after all the rumour mill I don't actually believe the Cody Mac story but just making sure the mill has more fuel as all
