Men arrested in dog trafficking probe.....

Six men and women have been arrested on suspicion of cross border, dog smuggling,

The incident happened in the small hamlet of doggin, on the northumbrian coast, just a short walk from berwick.

Apparently disguised as ramblers, the group would set of on early morning walks at about 5 o clock, accompanied with what is believed to be their own dogs, most of which were staffordshire bull terriers.

It is alledged they would cross the border, where they met with several men from the highlands, and in the exchange for money, the scotsmen would hand over the dogs, believed to be terriers of the scottish and highland variety.

Chief inspector B Mastiff revealed, "We have taken into custody several men and women over these allegations" and all i can say is" they originate from the north-east, and the ring leader is a 62 year old from the durham area. We have also impounded a bmw motor car, believed to belong to the son of the ring-leader, and are working closely with an informant and his wife, who we believe may have a source, to help us cracking this case

Inspector Mastiff's assistant Ivor ****zu added, "this hole thing came to light when we sent some agents undercover onto some local forums, and we believe we have enough evidence for custodial sentences".
