Fantastic effort. Well done Powell. Well done the team. Well done the fans. Maybe Watford should have started with Vydra and Deeney, but Geijo, that's their problem. COYR!
The strange munching sound emanating from dartford is me with my large humble pie. It tastes really sweet!!!!!!!!
Seems to be the way this season's going, few bad results and we all feel negative and then a great result comes up, usually away from home. Top stuff, have a great day lads, night
Some nice comments page 7 onwards http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/187554-WATFORD-TEAM-NEWS-v-CHARLTON/page7
Great win...after their valley showing I hate Watford and seems like today just as bad with gamesmanship. Most satisfying result of the season Pritchard apparently was immense again he must of win over the doubters now. I couldn't believe fuller started over BWP was fuming but we won so what can I say. In Powell we trust

That game was the last thing I needed with this stinking hangover. I feel like death so will billet point my views Fuller immense. This is why I disagreed about getting rid - on his day he is one of the best strikers in this league. Pritchard impressed again. Lacked a bit if composure at the end but I can't hold it against him. Stephens next to him was brilliant- kept us ticking and was central in most of our play. Watford really are a flair side, really appreciated some of the football they played. Their defence really struggled aerially, and from what I've just read from the thread IA put up, it seems fitz hall was a massive loss. Nervy ending with everyone back bar fuller. But even with those bodies Watford were still carving up chances. But when we got in to the final 5 I thought we would hold out as every man was running their arse off. Now time for a subway and straight to bed
We definitely missed Fitz Hall today. Fuller was a real handful and your fullbacks did well to create chances for you. First goal was as big a gift as you can get though, basically just side footed it under no pressure into the net. You had the right game plan... we made some changes, either to rest players or through injury and it weakened us.... you played a physical game and there was a lot of hard tackles. Our players rolled about a little but then again they were being constantly fouled. It was a penalty though... I'm sure you don't like Forestieri at all, but he was clipped from behind and your defenders didn't seem to disagree. A cheeky handball, but then your player did the same thing. 2nd half the game opened up... our forwards started to create lots of chances and you carried on plugging away. I think a draw would've been a fair result, but we snatched victory at the Valley so hey... that's how it goes. As some of you said, good thing for you that we had Deeney and Vydra on the bench till it was too late. Think you're too good for relegation, though consistency wise you might need to wait till next season to think about the play offs, promotion etc.
Couldn't agree more. Majority of our team is inexperienced in the Championship, and despite storming League One last season, there's a big difference between teams such as Yeovil Town, Bury or Walsall compared to your Leicester City and Cardiff. Buy some additional players (maybe a 20 goal striker) our players will be more up to the task come next year.
just got back. all i can say is that we put a good shift in and deserved the win. we owed watford that one for when they came to the valley and were totally unsporting. back then i thought they couldnt be any worse. today proved me wrong. never seen a team full of disgraceful play actors, foulers or whingers as them. they're key play is to try and get someone sent off. their players are disgrace, i cant believe parents take their kids to go watch them - giving them totally the wrong sort of role model. the charlton fans kept the ball because they were fed up of our players being tackled with two feet. fuller put his hand on one of their players chest just to keep him from walking forward and he went down like a bus hit him. when watford were winning, you thought their team was playing para olympic basket ball - they just wouldnt stay on their feet. wilson broke his nose, carried on running round and only went off cos of the blood. i'm glad we have a honest decent bunch of players.
That was a gift, and it summed up how much we missed Fitz Hall, he would have cleared it before it got anywhere near young Tommie Hoban. It was well worked, but we failed to pick up the scorer. This one was offside, I cant believe people complained. This one however waw NOT, Vydra was level with your right back who was on the floor having slipped. Thats a good line, bravo. You are such a hypocrite! Every time we looked to break you would bring us down and get away with it! Solly hacked down two player in the space of 2 mins and got away with it. Ekstrand was scythed down from behind and required treatment for the tackle. I saw one watford player who has stapping on his ankle where your player studded him, and I have seen another with a briused knee where he was kicked as he took the ball down.
if it was your number 5 with the bruise, i saw the incident. he got it from diving. 4 times. like he was shot in the face, and not tackled by our smallest player.
Today was absolutely brilliant. Every Charlton player put in a great performance. Special mentions should go to Evina and Pritchard, who really got stuck in to Watford's midfield. The tackling today was real old-fashioned stuff, firm but fair. If Watford couldn't live with that, that's their problem. Football is a contact sport. Also, some of their tackles on our players were pretty cynical. Our second goal was as good a team goal as we have scored for a while. Until late on today we played more or the floor, and it worked. Some very nice combinations from all the players kept Watford frustrated. Fuller's work for the third goal was magical. I loved it at the end when the Charlton fans kept the ball. We made a lot of noise, and Watford's fans didn't. Watford clearly have lots of technically gifted players, but we out-battled them today. Exactly what the Watford of 30 years ago used to do So glad I made the late decision to go.
Hi sorry for not posting lads was at the game and I thought it was brilliant, a real gutsy performance however watfords team is the dirtiest I have seen in a long time, their number 41 attempted a hand of god on Hamer and got booked so decided to spend the whole rest of the game diving !!!! a great win though COYR
