    Davide is 25...so borderline elderly, but I refuse to fall in love until he's out on the pitch for us. Wonder what he looks like<whistle>

    and pray tell me what is wrong with facial hair.

    It has a number of distinct advantages:

    You save an absolute fortune on shaving soap and razor blades;

    No badger has been killed to provide me with a shaving brush;

    You can brush your wife's teeth at the same time as you kiss her goodnight;

    If you are feeling a bit peckish you can usually find a few bits and pieces of old food buried in your moustache or beard to keep you going;

    If you are more than a little ugly like me it can hide many of the facial defects causing such ugliness;

    At this time of year you get endless invitations to parties to be Father Christmas and hence you eat very well and save lots of money on food;

    You can tickle your grandchildren's ears with your beard;

    In the winter it helps keep you warm.

    I could add many more but that is enough for now.

    Agent (speaking on Sky) said how open the relegation sitation is with as many as eight teams possibly still at risk. Says he reckons there will be more permanent deals sought in January than usual and he thinks QPR will spend the most (let's hope they don't spend wisely).

    I`d rather have Sly Stallone - he was great in Escape to Victory. Great shot-stopper - bit suspect at defending crosses though. NA and NC will have been impressed by his loyalty - and none of this Johnny Foreigner bottle-kicking business either !

    I'm actually beginning to think that we would do better if no one could bring anyone in as I think we will do better with the team we have than some of the others.

    Agree with that Fran. Ouyr squad is improving whilst Villa and Rangers in particular seem to be getting worse. Can't happen though so let's just make sure we get better than them!

    Would be amazed if Forest didnt want to sign him. Can't see it until the summer though.On Connolly he would do a great job in league 1 if he can stay fit.
