Sadly Ido think Steve is good enough for Pl, let's be honest he struggled last year at times so if he can get a move and the price is right then let him go and replace him with someone better

Best of luck to him if he moves on, one of the most frustrating players I have ever set my eyes upon but if he is ever going to improve he needs to play regularly somewhere. I hope he goes to a Championship team so I can keep half an eye on him.

Seriously? For me punch has been our most dangerous player by a distance for last two months we'd be in all sorts of trouble without him.

Dont know what you watch the games on over there, but from being at the games this season i can assure that Puncheon has been one of main men for Saints - he has been MOTM on a few occassions.

Some people say football is all about opinion. No it isn't. It is all about prejudice.

De Ridder could play in our next match and score a hat trick and I would still think he is sh*t.

Puncheon could give away a penalty and miss an open goal but he would still be one of our best players this season.

Really ? when he gets the ball do you get excited ? Our attack has faltered badly over the last 5 games (3 goals) and sorry to say Punch is one of the main culprits. His main job is to create chances which is plainly failing in, he is a busy player but so is Chaplow. I am saying he is playing because there is no better option rather than him being a real threat to other teams. He played better yesterday when playing on the left, but Lallana will take that place, IF we get a really good wide player in Jan then Punch will not get a look in.

Have to say Puncheon doesn't really get me excited on the ball, and seems to be increasingly stalling on the ball.

Against Sunderland he was in and tried to cut back and lost the ball, and has done it a few times since.

Has come up big for us in relegation battle games, but is typically inconsistent. Still think we need a new wide man.

This is what I've been saying for ages. He is very good on his day, but his day does not come around often enough.

As for Steve, good luck to him. He's obviously not wanted here so he's probably talking to the media with the club's blessing. I don't believe he's as bad as most people seem to think, but I can understand why he doesn't fit in, so if he moves on I'll wish him luck and be grateful for what he has done for us.

I can't understand this criticism of Puncheon, he has been an absolute sensation this season and one of our biggest attacking threats. If he keeps up this form we'll have to worry more about whether we can keep him rather than if we can get rid of him.

I am not attacking Punch, what I am saying is that he is playing the best that he can, yet does not scare other teams as he has a major weakness which is his lack of a right foot that can kick the ball so he is very easy to defend against and thus not much of a threat. Remember he was kept out of the side by a 17 year old Oxo, who is good but was not a world beater then. If we manage to get a player like Lens or Abdul Kader Keita then Punch would not get a look in and I would be suprised is many teams would think that he would strengthen thier team. He is playing the best football of his life but I think he is a borderline premiership player who flits in and out of games

I reckon Puncheon is suffering from the "Fabrice Fernandes" effect.

Full backs are learning that he will just sprint down the wing, do a fancy twist and cut on to his stronger foot. This is very easy to defend against when you know it's coming and explains his apparent drop off in effectiveness in the last two games.

Shame in my opinion as he was one of our biggest attacking threats up until recently.

Wrong I'm afraid. Fabrice did not so much "twist and cut" as spin into ever decreasing circles before dissapearing up his own @rse. Bless 'im.

When you accumulate a large squad of players there are always players who rarely get a look in and I think its unfair to judge players on cameo and bits and piece outings in the side .Part of the plus of having good cover for all positions is it keeps the first teamers focused and on their game.Lets be fair not that long ago Puncheon was not the most popular choice in our side but look what a run of back to back games has done for him.I fear that De Ridder is the type who will go somewhere else and prosper if given game time and we shoot ourselves in the foot by letting him go.

I agree that some players never get the chance to grow if they don't get a run of games, but sadly the Premier League is not the place where a team like Saints can take risks. Steve didn't get much of a look in last season where we were chasing promotion either. Adkins doesn't see him as anything other than a rare cameo player...he could do better elsewhere.

My guess is he'll get a chance in the FA Cup to advertise his skills.

Good old Fabrice. Beats one man, cuts inside, beats the same man, turns, beats the same man again, cuts inside, scuffs it.

Strange then that people loved Fabrice, but dislike Guly who is a much more useful player.
