When Brendan Rodgers said he thought Liverpool could finish second I didn't realise he meant in every game.
I agree with that, and have no idea what the Bent things about, but injury has done Lambert a timely favour. Benteke looks promising.
They're probably the second best side in Liverpool, although I haven't seen Everton's reserves play this year so it's difficult to judge.
Bent isnt a team player and lambert is very much about having a tight team unit so i cant see bent having much of a future and i would guess lambert wants to find a seller so he can bring in his own players.
Not wrong there, Bent was doing ok, but Lambert seems to have changed their style to one that does not suit him, requiring more from a front man than just a predatory role. As you rightly point out, Bent is good at little else.
Roy Rodgers claiming 'Pool should be looking at 2nd spot, and then they get spanked by Villa at Klanfield. Rarely do we see such superb comic timing in football. I may be far from home, but that doesn't mean I cannot still enjoy the entertainment. Thank you, for that, Mousers.
On the plane back home this morning, I was asking myself whether or not 'Pool has improved since being spanked at Klanfield by the mighty Brentford, in the Cup, and I really cannot make up my mind on the matter. On the one hand, one would like to believe that today's 'Pool would, at the very least, scrape a draw, but on the other hand, Goofy - their only real striker - doesn't seem to know how to score goals. Plus, it's looking ever more likely that 'Pool will finish well down in the middle of the table this season, despite Roy Rodger's boasting about finishing 2nd (I still have a quiet smirk when I bring that quote to mind). I find myself quite undecided on the matter.
'Pool leapt a massive 4 places, from 12th to 8th, and will now consider that they can challenge for the title, this season. I imagine that there will be a lot of sore heads today, after all the partying on the streets of Merseyside, with cans of Tenant's Super Strength Extra littering the alleyways, and perhaps the strain of Cilla Black still ringing out, where one Mouser or two has fallen asleep with the CD left on "loop" mode. The thing is, of course, that they remain only a loss away from dropping back down to 13th - when they come up against a half-decent side. I'd like to applaud their current achievement, however, since it does demonstrate a willingness to finish in the top half of the table.
Just bought a Liverpool FC advent calendar. ****ing typical, all the windows are boarded up and some ****s nicked all the ****ing chocolate.
I actually woke up this morning on my bathroom floor, with my Liverpool towel as a mattress under me. But that's another story
