The fact that we are in the top 2 now has to give an indication that we are capable of being in the same position at the end. But that is all it is. I don't think that we should look at it as anything else. Now I see it as a race for other clubs to knock us off the pedestal.
Ask other managers from the top ten positions if they are happy with where they are now and I expect most will say that they are.

How long have you been watching football and City?

I'm in my 40th year of fandom this season and for someone of my service I'm afraid the "It'll all go t1tsup" attitude is firmly ingrained in the psyche! It's purely based on experience.

One thing I would like to witness, before I am sprinkled from the stern of a P&O Ferry, is a Championship! It would also be nice to enjoy, just for once, a season where we "Absolutely Coast It"!

40 years and counting!

Sone Aluko to come back,Cairney's back,Hobbs.... If we can keep our loans, sign maybe the likes of Wood or Cambell, have a slice of luck....we are up <ok>

If we do what we have in the first half of the season we'll have 88 points, which has been enough for the top two in 8 of the last 10 seasons.

Said before a ball was kicked we would finish in the top 6.

As for automatic promotion, we have a chance ....

Here's hoping .

Because NO ONE can ever be 100% nailed on for automatic promotion with half a season still to play .. And we would look pretty stupid if we started giving it large and then failed ..

48 years of watching city play ..

Theres lots of improvement yet to come in the side for me, so I think we will go up automatically now. We are a mostly young team too. Another factor is we are fearless away which is a massive plus point. One or two of the other teams near uswill fall away for sure. I usually go more negative than positive on these things .

SB seems to be able to get the best out of players and pick up loanees who are committed and hungry..we will finish in the top 6...that's for sure.

People aren't being negative. The truth is they feel very positive and it scares them because they think any sign of complacency is tempting fate. The antidote to this is to err on the side of caution.
I don't blame fans for feeling this way - those of us with a longer experience of City have had some desperate disappointments. However I said at the start of the season we would finish as champions and I've seen nothing to change my mind yet.
The biggest reason is Steve Bruce. He has the experience the savvy and the calmness that neither of his predesessors had and I think he will take us over the line.

Added to the fact that we have played most of our rivals away from home, meaning in the second half of the season, we face more winnable home games against those around us.

Of the 11 other teams in the top half, we've played 7 away from home. That we have those 7 to come to the KC would be somewhat more comforting if we hadn't lost to Burnley, Peterborough and an indifferent Blackpool side on home soil.

Indeed. We just need to keep things ticking along nicely as they are and of course get those 4 players signed up for the season at least as SB has mentioned. With Aluko to come back as well its looking good...BUT STILL THE 2ND HALF OF THE SEASON TO GO AND ANOTHER 23 GAMES.

I THINK WHAT MAKES THIS SQUAD BETTER THAN THE LAST FEW SEASONS INCL. THE 2008 ONE IS THAT THEY HAVE BELIEF AND DONT FEAR ANYONE.

The bench looks so strong and with players like Andy Dawson and Paul McKenna not even getting a bench spot thats just shows you how strong we are.

We'll go up if we don't lose to anyone below us in the table as it stands....we never draw so we'll just have to keep on winning. I'd take a 1-0 against festa right now!

personally I hope we give boring **** a good kicking
