Quick poll to get your prediction on Simonsig's debut today and potential effects on Cheltenham markets:

    1. He jumps like a stag, wins hard-held on the steel a-la-Sprinter Sacre and is shortened to 6/4 fav for the Arkle

    2. He jumps indifferently, clouts a couple and scrambles home by 2 lengths. Arkle market remains unchanged, odds shorten for potential hurdle targets (Champion Hurdle, World Hurdle)

    3. He jumps like a Skoda, clouts every fence and falls 2 out. Scratched from Arkle market, trainer states he will go back over hurdles, vying for favouritism for Champion Hurdle and World Hurdle

Not sure how this poll thingy works, hope I can get it going.

Poor Skoda! It's actually a very good car and too much maligned. You should have chosen a Lada, Oddy, their cabriolet version is called a skip.

Come on lads, tell me about it... Didint see any racing yesterday, and im only just catching up on the action... Read the report and it read like an absolute thrashing and a mere work out for the boy...

Whats the view of the forum...???

Was little more than a work session red. He jumped very professionally and when Geraghty saw a stride and asked for a big one he responded more than willingly. The 3 fallers took a lot of the interest out of the race and the form is pretty worthless - the 2nd strolled over the line. All we learnt really was that he is a proficient jumper of a fence. We now need to find out whether he can do it at Championship pace with several rivals snapping at his heels but I doubt we will see that until the Arkle.

If you want to be really impressed watch the replay of Puffin Billy's race <ok>

I thought he pulled hard and jumped a bit airy at a few. Worryingly he jumped better when going quicker and would probably love a strong pace set by Overturn. Still don't get the price re Simonsig, Overturn's debut was more impressive jumping wise and he's higher rated over hurdles. Also the way he runs his races will be more suited to chasing. If he gets in front and starts pinging them like he did at Sandown then he'll really give Simonsig and co something to think about.
