Valid point. However, fans beating him up over this are being conned by Bates once again. He has enabled them to totally take their eyes off our real issue - KEN BATES!!!!!!! He has a long track record of doing this, just read pages 103 - 135 of "Broken Dreams."
bates is out on his arse soon anyway. There's very little we can do about his need to be praised and idolised and his need for attention. Very likely he's done this as he's either not been allowed to write the programme notes for the Chelsea game, or he's not allowed to do it from the Boro game onwards.
What makes you think Bates has done this? Could have been anyone as GC has made promoted himself to celebrity status through his media whoring. If you were on the eve of probably your biggest ever game whilst in control of Leeds with £52M smackers on the horizon, would you be worried about an armed drug dealer and his skint brother ? Thought not!!
bates clearly has various personality flaws that mean he can't resist the temptation to "get one over" on his adversaries. In this case he's made Gary Cooper is adversary on the basis that LUST threatened his tenure at Elland Road, and he knows that, or he wouldn't have made such a big deal over it. If LUST hadn't had any influence on the events of the last 8 months he wouldn't have villainised them.

You know as well as I do that Bates would not let them call the shots - remember that joint statement attacking LUST?
Except if the agreement states that GFH will not pay any of the legal fees to defend bates in court and that he has to pay them himself.
He's lost a tonne of libel cases while at Leeds United. He's won a grand total of one legal battle, against the WYP, which in the grand scheme of things I think the club should be paying for extra policing costs. Either that or pay its fair share of taxes, which the club is doing neither thanks to ken bates. It's no surprise the WYP have thrown a wobbler over this.

Have a read at LUSTS recent mail to supporters. It will come as a big disappointment to a few begrudgers but Gary has received overwhelming support to carry on as chairman
I received that email, the first thing I looked for were the facts and figures but there wasn't a link to them.
Do you not find it weird that this was published on the same day as an exclusive interview with Ken Bates written by the same person? I wonder what (who) made the Mail think this was in the public interest.
Having looked on WACCOE and twitter I don't think I need to see the facts and figures, support for Gary was overwhelming.
