I thought it might be about time we had a thread for horses who have no news and no clues as to where they are and what happened to them. Hopefully the forum can collaborate to solve some mysteries! I'll put one or two forward: SAMAIN Willie Mullins/Gigginstown This horse was a very promising bumper winner in 2010, and was due to have a novice hurdle campaign last year. The last we heard was that he was put away to remain a novice in the 2012/13 season as he was recovering from a setback. There has been not a word on him again this season and I would like to understand the situation. MONO MAN Nicky Henderson- A very unfortunate loser on its one and only hurdles start behind Colour Squadron and Its A Gimme, and one that was seemingly well thought of in the Henderson novice hurdling ranks. I have seen him priced up for a Neptune this year as he remains a novice, but again there is no sign of a reappearance just yet. Henderson has also bought his full brother for £60,000, and if anyone knows the name of that horse yet I would be very grateful. Please feel free to put forward your own suggestions and/or shed light on other peoples queries.
I would like to know the plans of Punchestowns half brother Tistory if anybody knows. Won it's only race last year beating Court minstrel who has won 2/4 since whilst keeping good company with the likes of Dodging bullets.
Solwhit has dropped off the radar - there was some talk last season of a novice chasing campain (I even thought about getting some very fancy odds on him for the arkle at one stage) but then it never materialised.
Solwhits chasing career is abandoned and he was due to return hurdling this year. Yet to hear any more though.
Please can someone enlighten me as to what happened to MY WAY DE SOLZEN? It won the Arkle and the World Hurdle (Very Unique Double). Then the year later was being touted as the next great challenger to King Kauto, THEN fell of a cliff supposedly. I heard (please someone clarify this) he was last running round in class 6 races. Fall from grace is an understatement!
My Way De Solzen went Hunter Chasing, was last seen in the Foxhunters at Aintree earlier this year. With Gabe Mahon according to Racing Post
Many thanks for putting me in the picture OddDog, always wondered whathad happened to him. Good quiz question though in terms of the unique double
No worries mate, he was an old fave of mine, backed him to win the Arkle but I was amazed when he won the World Hurdle
Here's another one that seems to have gone off the radar.....WEAPONS AMNESTY. I know he was injured after his RSA win, not heard anything about him since, then all of a sudden he appears on the betting for Lexus Chase. Would be great of someone could shine some light on this. Could have been the next big thing and loved Cheltenham
Update on SOLWHIT here Should Punchestown go ahead on New Years Eve, Charles Byrne's charge will be contesting the 1.35. Welcome back Solwhit
