He has so much talent, his ability is not in question. He would be one of the best players technically in the premier league. He has it all, great skill, vision, technique and passing and has good pace. He is a fantastic talent but he has attitude and discipline problems. I hope he stays with QPR so we can see what he can do in the PL. But stats of 19 goals and 16 assists in the championship are quite impressive. I know it is weaker league but his talent is boundless. Whether we should take a risk with him is another question but I believe it would be a risk worth taking. He has something special about him and a commanding aura and his spell in the Championship has done him a world of good. Ferguson is a master of getting the best out of players and if he were able to get the best out of Adel, then we are talking about a special talent here. I would take the risk and buy him as special talents like him don't come around all the time. It would be a shame to see such a talent go to waste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evg5124phhk
I can't see us going for Taarabt. He's talented, but then talent doesn't always cut it in the PL, and his attitude is all wrong. QPR specifically tell him not to do any defending or play for the team, cos he's practically a liability in his own half. Which is likely to be a huge turn off for SAF. His record in the Championship is impressive, but then I think Ronaldo or Nani could have done the same had they gone to the Championship at the level they were at when they joined Utd. The key with those two players is that they joined Utd aged 18 and 20 respectively, and it took Ronaldo 3 years and Nani 2 years to get them performing consistently at a good enough level for Utd. Taarabt is going to be 22 in a couple of weeks, so he's already behind those two, and I don't think we'll gamble on him. He'd still get goals and assists in the PL, but his lack of teamwork and defensive play would definitely let us down in big games. I'd rather we went for someone like Chamberlain, who may not be as talented, but will only be 18 in the summer. Or Ravel Morrison, who has comparable talent to Taarabt, but is four years younger. Of course that depends on Morrison staying out of jail after another run in with the law...
I understand what you are saying but Adel is more talented than Nani or Ravel and Ravel simply cares about being a gangster or the godfather of Manchester. He is talented but it will go to waste. But Swarbs Adel has been in England for a while now and will be used to the challenges etc but I believe if we got him it would take 1 or 2 seasons to really get him into his flow. He will be able to learn his defensive game and will have to next season regardless, but he is a supreme talent and would not cost as much as other talents who have less talent than him. He would need some work but we have Ferguson and great coaching staff and I am sure he would be a huge improvement on Obertan and Gibson. At Utd he would probably quiet down and work hard. It took Nani until the 2nd half of his 3rd season to get any consistency and I am sure Tarrabt will be able to do that early. Who ever he goes to will have a supreme talent and if managed well they will have a world beater.
We do not need more young dross. We need a proven world class player to slot into the middle of the park
I think he is too brittle to become a star in this league, in away games he often went missing and against hull he asked to be substituted because someone didn't pass to him. Superhuman levels of talent obviously but I imagine he could be easily stopped by a workhorse.
It was worse than that. He was playing bad and started making the substitution gesture and when he didn't come off he was stomping all over the pitch and chucked his wooly gloves on the floor. One of the funniest things i've seen at a football match.
