It is football now although I will say that all those crap Spectrum games in the late 80s/early 90s had a fair split between football and soccer titles. Never called it soccer meeself though...
spent the last 10 years re educating the locals that it is called football even the nzrfu has dropped the football from their title (not that that was anything to do with me)

It doesnt matter what it was called 1st, what matters is what its been called for the last 100 years. If you want to go by that logic then teams should be know for their 1st kits and not the colours theyve been using for decades.

Oddly enough though Super, according to what I've read, the English used "Soccer" right up to the 70's! My old man told me that in the 60's, his mates from Shepherds Bush all referred to it as Soccer! I wonder if there's any guys on here born in the forties that could confirm that? My aim is to RECLAIM THE NAME for you English boys!!!

Regardless of the derivation of the word "soccer", the sport is football and the club is a football club There are two great sports called football - North American football needs a new name - if it had one we could stop referring to soccer
