A four game ban for John Terry is taking it seriously?

As noted by PNP, the Serbian FA have banned Mudrinksi and Ninkovic from national games for a year. The FA dithered before taking the captain's armband from Terry, but he's still available to play for England.

Terry's ban could've done with being longer and whilst I think Terry should've been suspended by the FA during the investigation into racism I don't think they realised how dragged out Terry would make the investigation and once he made the delay they started discussing taking the armband off him. The criticism of the Serbian FA was after their initial reaction was to deny any racism or bad behaviour by there players. The focus now is on UEFA for punishing the wrong people and being a soft touch on racism, which they always have been.

Once our club has sent off their report of the West Ham fans to the FA the spotlight can fall on them again and we can wait for them to show how you punish racism by a significant section of the crowd. If they don't I'm sure we'll all be there to jump on their backs, apart from the BBC.

I can't disagree that Terry should have been dealt with far more severely for what he said. However, the fact remains that the English F.A. still take racist abuse far more seriously then The Serbs, who have only acted because they have been put under the international spotlight after the shenanigans at that game.
Let's not forget that these are the people who ruthlessly ethnically cleansed their entire region not so long ago.

I somehow doubt any of the fans that ran onto the pitch at the U21 game are convicted Serbian war criminals.

Terry's ban should've been longer, but the comparison of one incident of verbal abuse doesn't hold up to a sustained physical one, for me.
The constant monkey chanting during the game was far worse than any group of fans in any English league game that I've seen for decades.
Even Lazio's recent abuse in our tie at WHL was tame in comparison.

Uefa have dealt with the Serbian coaches severely and have suspended the serbian players for longer than the English players so they clearly see Serbia were provocative and the English players were responding to the provocation...my problem is this:

The Serbian FA DENIED that there were ANY racist monkey noises which there clearly were...then accussed Danny Rose of LYING.
Not only this they then produced a video and released it on youtube ... and again accussed Danny Rose of LYING.
They then BLAMED the English black players for all the ensued which, given UEFA's punishments (which include having to play a match behind closed doors and coaches being banned for 2 and 3 years) has been shown to be bollocks.

They have never apologised nor condemned the racist behaviour, instead they blamed the black players and called them liars...and for this they have been fined £65,000 ... they should be banned for the next tournament and the Serbian FA should be forced to have anti racist banners and advertising at ALL domestic and international matches and in their programmes etc. If another incident like this happens their clubs and National team should be forced to play ALL Europe club and International matches at the oppositions grounds. That would stop the players being punished but would concentrate the minds of the morons who run their FA ... to deny what could be clearly heard was a disgrace at best and at worst it was an invitation for the racists to continue the hateful campaign.

Our FA handled the John Terry and Suarez incidents appallingly in my opinion...but that's no reason to allow the Serbian FA to get away with their disgraceful behaviour.

The FA are appealing against these bans. Can't say that I'm surprised.

What you say really bothers me as well. Similar to Chelsea putting Clattenburg's career in jeopardy and blackening his reputation, and paying no penalty for it.

It will keep happening until punishments fit the crime of false accusations.

It's pretty rich that the official Serbian response was that there is no racism in Serbia, it's just these black players who are causing problems. It's amazing that no one in the Serbian FA thought that one through a little more.

IMO, they should go further. If nothing changes in regards to this blatant racism in places like Serbia, then the F.A. should just refuse to go back there. Tell UEFA that we don't send our players to places were they have to suffer this kind of abuse. There's just a chance that they may actually sit up and take notice.
If we don't make a stand, UEFA will just continue to gloss things over.

The FA cannot do that when supporters are getting arrested for Monkey gestures at foreign players in the PL unfortunately. It happens in every league I bet
