Moses ran the show last time they played us, it was pure luck that Rodellaga couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo on that day. We were lucky not to lose that game, Wigan were much better than us in the second half.

Whilst Lawro is a nobb I wouldn't be amazed if we did lose. Let's hope the fact the Moses is not with them anymore will help us out a bit.

fair point about moses - he was unplayable that day. we did well to get a point to be honest and that was while wigan were on their incredible run of form having just beaten man utd.

He was like a machine that day, that run of good performances virtually sealed his move to Chelsea and I was deeply jealous that they had a player like that at the time and we didn't. We had no answer for his powerful runs down the wing.

We now have Tettey who I also rate very highly.

How the hell did Nzogbia keep him out the Wigan side for so long?

I think he might be doing it to just wind us Norwich fans up now....hes gone for a 1-2 Wigan win, for no particular reason at all, apart from the fact he doesnt like us!! We could be bottom of his prediction league at the end of this week!!! What a bellend!!!

i think wigan's attacking line is as good as last year, they've got jordi gomez and macarthur in the middle and play nice football. i think they will score, but hopefully we will score more. kone and di santo aren't particularly big so turner and bassong should be able to deal with them in the air.
    anybody know what formation they play - i guess it's a 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2?

I think they play a simular system to Villa a 3-5-2. This gives you a lot of flexibillity in middle of the park but can leave you exposed on the wings if you lose the ball in midefield. Hence the fact we had loads of crosses into the box against villa but very little through the middle.

I think we will either match them or use the 4-2-3-1 with Tettey and Johnson as the 2 holding midfieders hopefully breaking up their attacks through the middle and passing to the wingers to push forward to support Wes/Holty in attack.

People under-estimate how important formations are. Just look what playing a flat 4-4-2 against villa did to us. We were playing a 4 man midfield against a 5 man midfield. Absolutley killed us in the end as we pushed forward and lost our shape they picked us off easily.

It's going to be a good game - I quite like Wigan, and a good mate of mine is a season ticket holder for both the Latics and the Warriors (he says we will win 2-0) so I always watch for their results and want them to do well (except against us of course).

I'm going for the same as last year 1-1 with a good attacking game from both sides.

Last season's 1-1 draw was one of the best draws I have ever seen. I didn't want it to end!

i think wigan tend to play more of a 3-4-3 don't they? we'll need to be solid at the back - something we haven't been the past week. he doesn't score many but di santo is a good player and kone lightning quick. caldwell is a big loss for them though

i read caldwell is available, might have been on the pink un / EDP.
Sky have their last formation as 3-4-3, Kone/di santo and gomez in the front 3.
hopefully the michael Turner / Seb Bassong partnership and Alex T can bring back the defensive solidity.

Their keeper could be the difference. On his day he is a good as anyone in the league and can make some absolutely phenomenal saves, however he is also prone to the odd gaffe now and again and can also be a liability.

Let's hope the latter version turns up tomorrow <ok>

Welcome to our world - we've had eight years of Lawro punting against us, week after week. That's why this prediction of an away win against an in-form team is a new level of loopy. He must really hate youse....

We play three central defenders, two wing backs, two holding midfielders and two strikers. If Gomez plays we'll play more like a front three. If Maloney plays he's more likely to play between the lines.

Maloney coming on for Gomez in the second half against you lot last season was the start of our mad run. He was the missing piece. This season he has gone backwards - and Gomez has improved. I'd pick Maloney any day of the week over Gomez. If he plays - he's coming back off injury, and of course Gomez has had some good performances lately - but if Maloney plays and has some form about him, then we'll have a game.
