Chelsea have some tough fixtures ahead,even the Villa match won't be easy after they way they demolished Norwich and then they have Norwich. Do us a big favour Chris. Everton are my second team after Spurs and I hope they too beat Chelsea. Why Everton? Matches between us two over the years have been quality affairs and I've always respected the way Everton play. It's long been my favourite fixture.

However, as things stand right now, I'd rather have bale than sell him for 56mill, not knowing whether that money will be reinvested.
We're yet to prove that we spend or properly reinvest (hence a 5mill net spend in 5 years or what ever it is). I'd hate for us to sell him and replace him with "a promising youngster" who we have to wait 3 or 4 years to see anything from. Losing bale would be massive and would require someone special to replace him. He's a huge catalyst in our counter attack and gives us such a threat. I have no idea who we'd replace him with.
Who else is fast, strong, can cross, score and can assist, who we'd be able to afford, including the wages? I can't think of anyone. Modric was replaceable, but I'm not so sure bale is atm.

It's in the gossip column Roo. I'd take the dosh just to end the Bale saga because the speculation will be there next year too and I've had enough of it. Yes he would be irreplaceable but only for a while. We found him didn't we so we could find another. I know where you're coming from Roo but whatever Spurs do with the money is nothing to do with me and I wouldn't comment on it.
well it's all hypothetical, as none of us know what's going to happen. Bale's said he's happy, but would like to move at some point. So, of course, the media has jumped on it. As fans, we just have to prepare ourselves for it, as it's likely it'll happen with us.
What I was getting at TMT, is that there will obviously be other players out there with talent... but who is a ready replacement right now? Losing bale will be a massive blow. Left sided players are hard to replace, especially ones with the attributes that Bale possesses. we can't wait 3 years or so for a promising youngster to take the stage. Our game plan relies on him too much and we can't wait years for someone else to eventually fill his boots.
Obviously what the club to with the money is nothing to do with you or me, but we can still discuss it and share our thoughts, as this is what the forum is all about. So, as we're yet to see any of the Modric money reinvested or a half decent net spend made to push us on, I'd be worried about how much selling bale could set us back if we continue in the same way.
I'm fairly certain that Bale will move in the summer to Real and this seems to be just another part of their ongoing campaign to unsettle him.

I doubt the story is anything to do with Real, they would be talking about him leaving for £25mill otherwise.
Real don't need to use Modric style unsettling tactics on our players anymore because of the recent partnership thing.
