I'm only just catching up on some threads after a few days down with my folks and I'm reading this one with a growing sense of disbelief. Do this bunch of semi-literate, dickless wannabees think they can create 'a firm' (or whatever word they choose to cover up for what's simply moronic antisocial behaviour) out of nothing? There's no culture of violence, or even group misbehaviour at this club, so why start any? Real men stand up on their own to be counted, they don't have to hide behind masks, hoodies, human shields and banners that look if they were created in a children's playgroup. I think this nonsense will very swiftly come to an end if they ever have the misfortune to come up against some real, dyed in the wool hooligans, but it would be infinitely preferable if before this happens, they'd just crawl back under their stones with their latest copy of Amateur Onanist. Pathetic.
These attention-seeking morons would probably think it was a feather in their cap if they got our club into trouble.
I'm a big believer in football culture reflecting current youth expression. I'm surprisingly chilled out by this lot who after all are really trying to introduce their brand of support in a sport that has gone sterile and all self important. This is the vuvezela of the decade, an annoying craze that will die out in a season but let them have their moment. They have earnt it in the way the B Mob thought they did and the charlton boot boys and the clockwork orange before them, they are crass, uncool and probably heading for a massive kicking for being mistaken as a hooligan outfit from some real yobs. They are dicks they know they are and probably will laugh at themselves in 5 years time, but come on boys will be boys..
I can't belive any firm, gang, group of vigilantes , thugs or as Tewks so rightly puts it, amatuer onanists (they might need co-ordination and opposing digits for that Tewks) are going to add anything or be a fad. We have had them consistently in the game for many years and adding to the mess will not do CAFC or our support any good. In a bygone era these delinquents would join up into loose political connections such as Mosley's blackshirts and it is not a great step to wonder whether any of the red division hold intolerant views on matters other than palace and millwall. In terms of our support they will drive away the family friendly atmosphere of the club and reduce our support to the level and attendance number of our South London neighbours who already have these firms. We don't need sub groupings to know who we are, we are Charlton supporters, abused by some, described as trainspotters and lots of other derogatory terms by rival clubs supporters, but generally respected wherever we go for being vocal in our support but also for being decent proper football supporters. I make a 120 mile round trip to home games, if I thought I was going to have to worry about moronic behaviour in my environment I would think again.
Just to keep you all updated I believe they have a massive banner/flag making its debut appearance this saturday away to Bolton!
You're right. Appears they have different factions within the division too. Saw a banner which had some sort of figure on it. Looked rubbish.
Alright, I'll go with that. I guess let them be as long as it doesn't affect normal fans (not a guarantee I accept). Away crowds must be really strange with the usual crowd plus a load of kids with "massive banners" and a strange false Italian ultra element. All the same, my thoughts In football, there are only three things sadder than lighting a flare to celebrate a 0-0 away draw: a) Goal music. 2) Copying the 'Palace Ultras' iii) Acting like hard men behind police protection. When they start travelling to matches in scooters, then I'll have to stop agreeing with you, typical.
Just had a look on thier Twitter. They posted a pic of Todorov celebrating at Palace. It's thrown me. Very odd choice.
