Hi im new to this, been reading the forum fairly often and thought it was time to join in, i have been trying to get fulham away tickets online but it will only allow me to get restricted view tickets, does anyone else have this problem or just me?, it says something along the lines of "can not lock seats" also because of the trains down for boxing day, does anyone know how good the http://www.saints-away.com/ are, the coach is pretty cheap so thinking about getting this, is it worth the wonga? cheers for the help
the colliseum coaches are very good value for money this season imo. We drive sometimes and take the coaches to other games, but the coach is considerably cheaper than the car unless you have a car full of people who can share the fuel money, parking, etc.
Welcome Nigel's Apprentice! Just watched a very poor Fulham beat a very poor Newcastle team who completely outplayed them but managed to loose. With another victory against Sunderland and the growing confidence, I think we can get something at the Cottage. They leave plenty of space out wide which will suite us. Hanger land looks strong but that's about it in their defence. Goals a plenty! Berbatov wanders around causing mayhem so Corky and Snidders will have to be on their toes as he picks the ball up from deep. Other than that Fulham look poor
Would really love to come over to this one, love my trips to London but timing of the year doesn't suit....Will be a nice start to the day if we get 3 points in what's the biggest night of the year for partying in my hometown!
Hi Nigels apprentice. Yeah those saints away folks are pretty good I seem to remember, never used myself but it's just run by local people, so give them a call. Not much chance of getting a train on Boxing Day.
I admire your confidence, but your argument is full of holes. Had you managed to see more than one FFC game this season, you would realise that Hangeland has been our worst defender this season, behind Riether, who has been a revelation, Hughes (solid as ever) and Riise (attacking, brilliant, defensively, not so). The three match ban for our Captain we had all hoped would see him collect both his thoughts and form, and on tonight's showing looks to have done so to an extent. Completely outplayed? Krul and Colo were Newcastle's best players! We scored two goals, Berba missed two sitters and Petric hit the bar! Doesn't sound like a team that was 'completely outplayed' to be honest. I can't remember too many Newcastle clear cut chances. Schwarzer didn't make a save tonight that wouldn't not be expected of him.
No Fulham were not outplayed at all - it was quite a good game to watch as a neutral and both sides played some good stuff, pretty evenly matched i thought. Both sides were unlucky with some very good strikes that hit the woodwork. I would be quite pleased with a point on Boxing Day, but if Saints perform to their best you never know.
Welcome Nigels apprentice enjoy your time on here.........On the whole we have a good group of lads and lasses post on this forum. We are always glad of one more to add to the list, welcome!! As for Fulham our form of late is making a lot of teams a tad nervous around us Fulham included. As I think on current form any team from them down are for the moment relegation candidates, us included. With 22 games to play Every one around us have to do better than a point a game for safety. Our points tally to date is 0.93 per game we only have to improve slightly to be reasonably safe to around 1.04 points per game out of our next 22 games. Which should be around 38 points although that too could change to around 40 points needed. (1.14 per game approx) Not by any means unachievable by this team.
Gutted by this- live just across the river from fulham, can see the floodlights of craven cottage from the end of my road. So when saints are on my doorstep, I'll be 300 miles away in Durham at the girlfriend's folks' place. Bl##dy Christmas!
Over our last six games, we've averaged 1.83 pts per game. Sustain that til the end of the season and we'll finish with around 53 points.
Not expecting Saints to carry on losing only one game in 6, but if we can stop dropping points in games we should have won (Norwich, Swansea) then we'll be able to tolerate more losses when we meet the big guns again in the New Year. Win some games in our 'easier' run out games and we should be fine. Put the 'easier' in brackets because we all know what happens when teams are desperate to avoid relegation.
An important one to win, in my opinion. There is a gap opening up above us, which (ignoring Newcastle) could technically be as big as eight points come Saturday night. So if we lose to Fulham, it might potentially take three or four wins to close that gap. Not sure where they would come from, give our post-Christmas run of fixtures. So I think a good Christmas period is essential to stay out of the quicksand...
