With 14 out of possible 18 points our form remains very strong and we now face an Everton side who are no push overs! A fixture that has returned Stoke 2 Wins & 1 Draw in the last 3 this is an excellent opportunity to beat a solid side and consolidate our position in the top half! LAST 10 Premier League Games: 4 Wins; 4 Draws; 2 Losses: LAST 40 Premier League Games: 11 Wins; 17 Draws; 12 Losses: Everton Form Guide: Everton currently siiting in 4th place on 26 points (+7) - coming off what could be said as the "smash & grab" of the season after beating an inform Spurs side with 2 X 90+ minutes goals to retain their unbeaten home record! With only 9 points out of a possible 18 points in their last 6 this may not be considered "TOP 4" form, but with only 1 Loss in 10 (and 6 in their last 40) they are hard to beat! As a blue, I'd be happy with a point at Stoke. You haven't lost there since February is it? we've only lost twice all season too. I'm hoping we play Fellaini deeper as I think we will be playing into you hands if we play him off Jelavic. -----------------------Howard-------------------- -----Coleman---Jagielka--Distin-----Baines----- ----------------Gibson--Osman------------------- --------Mirallas------Fellaini------Pienaar------- --------------------Jelavic------------------------- I think the above will be the team though despite me wanting Fellaini to play deeper. Mirallas could be injured in which case Naismith will replace him.
Thanks for your comments and I like you would be very happy with a point against an Everton team that seem to find it very hard to lose! Fellaini will be the danger man and he has the balance of a strong physical presence and skill to cause problems for what I feel is one of the best Central Defender partnerships in the league. I think we will struggle with your overlapping play (especially Baines) as FB's are a weak point for us. I think we will aslo struggle to keep tabs on Pienaar who roams about and will cause our rigid positional defensive style problems. Anway, goodluck!
I've gone for an away win. Working on the basis that my negativity (which todate has resulted in our excellent run) will be proved wrong and we will get something from it! Logic at its best!!!!!
I don't think it will be a high scoring game and a point out of Everton home or away is a result, they are a very good team.
Well for once I'm not, for the risk of tempting fate going to predict anything. The one player who IMHO is ALWAYS a danger is Leighton Baines. Just wish we had him, he's a great defender who seem's to spend more time in the opponents half than his own. Scares the **** out of me every time we've played Everton. Would love to get all 3pts this weekend and IF we don't I'll bugger off back on holiday. Last 3 home games we've ........ Here's hoping and KTF one and all.
I have to be honest and say that I don't think I've seen a single Stoke game this season, not sure whether that's own to not fancying it or you not being on the tele that much so I can't pretend to know how your doing. I gather looking at the table and the fact you've scored 14 goals, it's a strong defence that has got you there? we've scored in every game but one so far whilst we've only kept one clean sheet so I'm thinking it will be 1-0, 0-0, 0-1, 1-1. Can't see it being first on MOTD anyway!
Blue here I bloody hate us going to Stoke I have a feeling we will draw here 0-0 or a 1-1 you guys are doing well recently so Id be happy with that
Shogun Welcome to the Stoke board We're an enigma especially at home. Away is different, Pulis "always" set's his stall out not to lose which brings negative comments from most nuetrals. But at home IF we use two wide we're a totally different side IMO. So far this season you are correct. Only Citeh have conceded less goals and are goals four column is in truth pathetic. But, like Everton we're hard to beat home or away. HOPE it's an open game and both teams just go for the win. IF Pulis decides to go a little defensive, you and I both may be asleep by half time. Enjoy the game and end of the season would love to see you in the top 4.
We have the 3rd best defensive record in the whole of Europe behind Bayern and Juve, just wish we were more clinical.
Will Owen make the bench? http://www1.skysports.com/football/...es-Stoke-fitness-boost-ahead-of-Everton-clash
Smither's In tonight's Sentinel.. Owen say's "I'm fit" so it's up to T.P. He's also played tonight a Wigan for 70mins? So, this Owen is fit,not fit is hacking me off big time. IF he's fit he plays even if it's only for an hour or so.. if not. Why sign him T.P.?
So that he can say 'This football club is now able to sign big names like Michael Owen and Peter Crouch which shows just how far this football club has come' And I agree if fit he should play on Saturday and not just for the last 10 minutes
