    Lord Windermere 5/2

was a bit disappointed with his jumping last time but hopefully he will have learned plenty from that and he will give Mikael something to think about alright.

Who knows Oddy- only one way to find out!

Sir Des Champs will improve for the step up in trip so Flemenstar must also make a good transition. When you jump like that though you give yourself every chance.

Immensaely exciting, and as I said, I just hope all the top runners go there fit and well.

Looking at their next targets over the Christmas period, in terms of any preparations for a Gold Cup, does anyone think it might not be totally inconceivable that Sir Des Champs comes over to Kempton for the King George, rather than get involved in a scrap in 3m heavy ground against Flemenstar et al?

Sir Des Champs' ability to get competitive over 2 and a half miles last year would give him half a chance of coping with Kemptons flatter track and he does still have an entry, along with First Lieutenant.

The logic behind this is that the Lexus also sees a potential return of Weapons Amnesty and there are also other Gigginstown entries such as Quito De La Roque, First Lieutenant, and Bog Warrior.

Now- usually they could split them and send some to the 2m Paddy Power Dial A Bet chase on the day before (27th Dec). However, only Sir Des Champs has an entry in that, and there is no way they will send him over 2m.

I think for them to get a run into them all and to give themselves a top chance of winning, one of Sir Des Champs and First Lieutenant will be considered for the King George. Much will depend on how highly they regard Weapons Amnesty still.

I think Flemenstar might end up at the Ryanair this year if he goes to Cheltenham at all, I think he will get 3m, but the 3m2 at Cheltenham im not sure. The Ryanair could be ideal for him, but maybe they will want to take a chance in the Gold Cup, the Lexus will reveal all.

Toppy, forget about the King George for SDC, it aint going to happen, the lexus is nearly 3 months before Cheltenham and it will only be his second run.

When do you ever see Mullins Cheltenham horses leave Ireland before Cheltenham? Never. The best young horses are in Ireland and you want to win your own races.

You asked when does W Mullins send horses out of Ireland pre Cheltenham.

I answered....I wasn't aware we were discussing the stamina of Florida Pearl

It was a rhetorical question tbh, the first year Florida Pearl ran outside of Ireland, he didnt go to Cheltenham either.

Im sure there are a couple but the fact you have to go back to Florida Pearl backs up my point, Mullins does not tend to run his Cheltenham horses outside of Ireland before the festival, especially his novices and second season chasers.

We werent discussing the stamina of any horse, you brought up Florida Pearl and I made the point that until they found out he didnt stay in the Gold Cup, he never left Ireland before Cheltenham, his earlier career over fences backs up my point, it wasnt until his 4rth season over fences that he left Ireland, and it wasnt until his 5th season that he left Ireland and actually ran at Cheltenham. Hardly relevant to the second season chaser we are talking about.

Mullins says SDC could run in the 2m dial a bet chase over Christmas.

If that happens then I think I can firmly say Mullins is a numpty, as are Gigginstown.

In what way will SDC learn over 2m? First Mullins says before Cheltenham he seems more of an RSA horse, is forces to run in the Jewson, and now with the Gold Cup the target they suggesy a 2m run might help.

Smoke and mirrors and bullshite. Racing is beginning to really disappoint me.

Ran third in Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and would have been Cheltenham bound again had he not been injured after the Hennessy.

    Another of those "Never" horses.

    Stop digging Eddie...

How good a race would the Lexus become if Hendo sent Bob's Worth over for it.

Think you would have to ask mullins where he was bound to be honest, the fact remains, he did not run at cheltenham after leaving ireland.

He never ran at Cheltenham as a novice hurdler or chaser and was a low rated handicapper basically, I dont think you can say he was suddenly one of mullins chletenham horses, the fact he was sold and was tailed off or pulled up in bad races for the rest of his career suggests he wasnt.

do you have any at all?

    keep digging dex
