“As supporters bodies, we do not agree with any boycott - fans are the lifeblood of the game.

“We believe that all clubs and fans need to work together for the good of the Scottish game, rather than continue debating decisions made in the past which many have long moved on from.”

Survey taken a few months ago -

Almost 100% of ArabTRUST members polled stated that a newco application to the SPL should be refused and this was repeated in a similar exercise with Federation Clubs and the Business Club. Some 45% of those polled indicated that they would not purchase their season tickets if a newco was admitted. A further 16% indicated they were still undecided as to how a yes vote would affect their season ticket purchase. Some 63% stated they would cancel their SKY subscription if the broadcaster withdrew its coverage of the SPL, with a further 11% undecided on this issue.

Hmmmm...

In the Sevco world, that survey would seem to be double standards.

In the real world, that is seen as fair statement from Dundee United fans expressing the wish for rules to be applied fairly and, if the rules weren't properly applied, fans would vote with their feet.

Rangers & Sevco 's behaviour has been truly appalling at times throughout the whole sorry saga.

Representatives from ArabTRUST, the Federation of Dundee United Supporters' Clubs and the Dundee United Business Club met tonight with Chairman Stephen Thompson to discuss the results of the recent canvass of their members on the newco situation.

Almost 100% of ArabTRUST members polled stated that a newco application to the SPL should be refused and this was repeated in a similar exercise with Federation Clubs and the Business Club. Some 45% of those polled indicated that they would not purchase their season tickets if a newco was admitted. Some 63% stated they would cancel their SKY subscription if the broadcaster withdrew its coverage of the SPL, with a further 11% undecided on this issue.

Following a full and frank discussion and a constructive exchange of views, we are delighted that the Club has now confirmed that, taking all of these and other factors into account, they will not vote in favour of a newco application to the SPL.

We now call upon all of those Dundee United supporters who indicated that they were waiting on confirmation of this before purchasing a season ticket, to now get behind the Club and purchase their season ticket before the end of this month.

Now they're begging us not to boycott <laugh>

Rangers, Dundee Utd and Scottish Cup tickets: Your questions answered By Andy Coyle 5 December 2012

Rangers will not request tickets for their fans for the tie at Tannadice

Rangers have sparked controversy by stating that they will not take tickets from Dundee United for their Scottish Cup tie.

Rangers chief executive Charles Green has said that the history between the clubs, and security concenrs are behind the decision, which has the backing of supporters groups.

We've looked at some of the questions that have arisen from the controversial decision.

Why have Rangers taken this step?

Rangers were denied re-entry to the SPL in the summer after the asset sale that saw Charles Green’s consortium take control of the club. This is the first time Rangers have been drawn to play away against SPL opposition since the summer.

Rangers supporters groups had initially called on fans to boycott the game. The Rangers Supporters Assembly has urged a “full boycott” of the match in response to United’s part in denying the club SPL entry and also because of a ticketing controversy in 2009.

Charles Green issued a statement on Tuesday evening saying the club would not be taking up their allocation of tickets for the game. He said that the decision was a unanimous one by the board, senior management and staff at Ibrox.

“Everyone at this club is dismayed at the actions of certain SPL clubs, which were actively engaged in trying to harm Rangers when we were in a perilous situation and we are acutely aware of their attitude to us,” he added.

Why do you boycott every Celtic game?

Ironically, I do rather enjoy tangerines. And clementines for that matter.

So its ONLY because they voted against you? Any other reasons?

Why do you boycott every Celtic game?

Just out of interest, are the Rangers boys on here who go to the games going to boycott or are there any of you who quite fancy going?

EDGE and Trevor are the only two who go to Rangers games. Medro has never been to Glasgow. Chapper's in a mental institution and Gambol's really a taig.
