I wouldn't say it "blows ours out of the water". Liverpool's new deal is 7% larger than United's current one. Given our current one started in 2002 and Liverpool's starts in 2012, ours is still larger in real terms (i.e. after inflation). And of course our deal was staggered with inflation, so over the last five years, from 2008-2013, we are guaranteed at least ã127 million. Which is ã25.4 million a year
Although I doubt we'll get ã100 million a year Dave, that would be immense given we only sell about 1.5 million shirts a year! More likely we'll end up around the ã40-45 million a year mark with another staggered long term deal. And that really will blow el Scousers out of the water in a big way![]()
